I don't have a beard, as I'm a woman, but it's a wonderful conditioner, smells lovely, and I definitely recommend it, give it a try. It's oil so it will smooth facial hair. Good luck!

His product seems to suggest it only protects against damage caused by heat styling, not that it actually protects hair against heat itself. Thoughts?

Don't get yr question..heat styling is like hairdryer straighteners etc thats heat up to 200°wat other heat is there that's hotter than that ?...if yr on about sun rays or something yes I'd say it will protect yr hair lengths where u spray it...if yr worried about yr scalp use sun screen esp at yr parting..after all yr scalp is skin and needs wat the rest of our skin needs ...hope this helps
