It does have a little learning curve, but it is fairly easy to play. We have only made it through a few of the levels and it does require a lot of coordination and working together to succeed. The aspects of how you move and what constitutes a legal move could probably be spelled out a little more clearly, but as written does allow for some house rules to give the player a slight edge. The game is actually very engaging. It seems cliché to do another Robin Hood game. I was worried about the story aspect of the game, but found it very enjoyable in the end. We haven't even opened the expansion yet (in fact, I'm not 100% certain if this review is for the game or the expansion.). Oh well, I would give it the same review either way. I would definitely recommend this game as a family friendly game.

So much fun. Great expansion! The story is so great! Only complaint is that the book is not as good of quality as the base game.

If you liked the original, you'll like this. It's an extension with new story so the mechanics are roughly the same (with a few twists). The story is well thought out, it meshes with the game, you can play a chapter pretty quickly, and has a decent replay value. Great way to get even more out of the original investment.

It only took us a few hours to go through these few chapters and they felt less compelling and meaty than the original game. Glad to have the expansion, and we enjoyed it, but would have liked there to be more to it. The title makes it sound like it's about Friar Tuck but it doesn't seem that way; he is more of a tacked on minor mechanic -- you don't get to play Friar Tuck as a character and he doesn't add that much to the story.
