If you follow the instructions to the letter then this product works really well. You will need someone to help pull the hair through the cap ( I tried to do it myself and ended up asking my husband to help!) check a strand every 10 mins to keep an eye on the colour- im really happy with the results after using this, I did a full head of highlights and I will use this product in future to dye my roots. I've also noticed that my hair colour has not faded much since the application unlike previous hair dyes after a month the colour is still fresh and highlights are still visibly defined.

Arrived within 2 days intact although packaging was a little lacking. Did exactly what I hoped for.My hair was dyed dark chocolate so had to wait the full development time but the results were wonderful and my hair is still in pretty good condition. The cap was not perfect, the seams in it tend to make things a bit awkward but will be investing in a proper reusable one in future.

Good product. I had brown hair and was worried I'd look really stripy after using this but the colour blends in well.

Definitely recommend. I have dark brown hair and always use this bleach for my highlights, I've tried other hair bleach but nothing works as good as this for dark hair.

I have highlighted my hair quite a few times using the Wella Highlighting Kit, but this time I thought I'd have a change. My natural hair colour is dark blonde (mousy), and although I have tried several different blondes and light to mid brown colours over the past couple of years, I cannot find a way to get rid of the inevitable gingery/aubern colour that my hair goes after 4-5 weeks....so I thought I'd put some bright highlights in to break up the gingery colour.I bought the maximum highlighting kit No. 1 for light to dark brown hair. Every time I highlight my own hair, I swear it will be the last time, as it is such hard work and so fiddly....particularly if you are ill, and don't have much strength in your arms, like me. I've got to say, this was my worse experience yet! We now have warm and humid weather, and my head started sweating minutes after I had put the cap on. I have never experienced this before with a cap. My hair underneath the cap actually got very wet. I was initially impressed with the relatively snug fit of the cap (the edge seams didn't stick up quite as much as the Wella caps), and i liked the fact that this cap has a "tail" which protects the back of your neck, and any hair in that area. I also initially thought that it would be easier to use, as it has crosses on it, but I then realised that the actual holes are not punched where the crosses are...the crosses give you a rough guide of distance, but the holes didn't seem to be very accurately placed, which made it much more difficult to get the side and back holes. I actually ended up punching 3 holes myself, as I couldn't find any holes pre-punched in the cap! I personally found the metal hook too small as well, although there is a larger one on the end of the tinting brush...this was too large for me though, as I have very fine hair. I ended up using an old Wella one, but found this too large as well. I guess the hook size is a personal thing, depending on how thick or fine your hair is, and what thickness of highlight you want.I was a bit nervous about how long to wait for the development time, as this kit is 40% volume peroxide, which I think is stronger than the Wella kits (although don't take my word for it). With the Wella kit I have always waited 50 mins. I decided to cut a length of hair off, put it on a plate, and use it as my guide. Despite testing it every 10-15 mins, it stayed orange for quite a long time so I ended up leaving the bleach on for 70 mins. In retrospect, I think 60 mins would have been fine, as the highlights have come out extremely bright. If I hadn't have had so many problems with finding the holes in the cap, and using the Wella Highlighting hook (which kept pulling through really thick bits of hair), I think the result would have been much better, as the actual highlights are very bright, with no orange or ginger in them. As it is, I have a random combination of really thick and really thin highlights, which isn't great. I will probably leave it a few days, and use a L'oreal Excellence Crème 9.1 Natural Light Ash Blonde to hopefully blend things in a bit.Doing a review for hair colour or highlighting kits is really a very personal thing, so is not always accurate. I am just writing my experience.Positives:- very bright highlights with no orange, despite putting them over a dark blonde hair colour that had gone gingery.- tail on the back of the cap, protecting your neck and un-highlighted hairNegatives:- I personally found the cap very much hotter than the Wella caps resulting in sweating- I found the hook to be too small for the size of highlights that I wanted- The holes in the cap were not placed in the centre of the crosses, as you would think therefore, they can be really hard to locate on the back and sides of your head. This was the worst problem for me, but obviously wouldn't be a problem if you had someone to do it for you.I have included some photographs. The colour guide on the box is not accurate in my photo though.

Absolutely brilliant. I had red/brown hair and after one box treatment, I am a blonde again. Lovely natural colour.

Perfect!! Bouget this for my wife and it gave lovely results, no streaking just perfect blonding very very happy.

Took it out the packaging today and this is how I find it! All crumpled up. Very appalled by the quality. Definitely asking for a refund!
