It’s cute and sturdy. Although I’m disappointed to have discovered that I already had one and didn’t need to buy this. I can laugh about it now.

I've always felt a potato masher was a bit of an unnecessary appliance. In the rare occassion I've needed to mash something, I've managed (although painfully) to get by with a large fork. That was, until recently when I had a very large batch of mashed potatos that I was making.In arrived this potato masher. Simple in design, it has a silicone grip and is made of nice matte black metal. OMG, when I first used it I realized how much I was wrong. This thing worked great and got the job done in under a minute when it use to take me 5+. No strain, no pain, just mashed food. It cleaned up easily and stores easily. Awesome to finally have the right tool for the job.The only thing I would note is that the masher and handle do not appear to be a single solid piece. They are connected (welded? glued? idk) near the base. This may result in eventual failure of the product if you mash too hard and for too long. It appears well connected, but just something to be aware of.

I prefer mashed potatoes over whipped, so don't get near my potatoes with a hand mixer! I've been mashing my potatoes for years using a masher handed down to me by my parents that was given to them as part of a wedding gift in 1955. I have not been able to find another masher does the job like my vintage masher.This one is a close second. The face of the masher is a little smaller than what I have and the holes in the mashers are a bit smaller, but it does the job and is very sturdy. I mashed 5 lbs of potatoes yesterday without any issues.The one thing better about this masher is that it is dishwasher safe. I have to wash the old one by hand.Overall, a great masher and better than most sold new today.

This is a good masher but if you add any additional ingredients which make your potatoes or vegetables thicker (such as cheese), these have a tendency to get stuck within the small holes and you may need another utensil to scrape these chunks off (and I do not have the patience to go after each hole after I am all done cooking). I would go with the tried and true stainless steel wire masher which can handle all types of recipes and at least makes scraping easier so I have one less thing to worry about.

We have mashed potatoes all the time. We don’t use instant. I have used it to make soups also. The one I had was quite old so this made a good addition for me. I really like how easy it is to clean also. It’s a great alternative to getting the mixer out all the time.

For the current price of $12, you are getting a pretty good deal. The handle is made of a comfortable and graspable plastic. The body and head are made of metal. The head has large holes in it to allow for easy mashing. The metal is not that thick, so I don't think it will last more than a year or two with regular use, but it might. I think for a cook, just starting out, this is a nice piece. For a cook, upgrading to nicer stuff, you will want to spend a bit more.

This is a great masher that's durable and has a nice grippy handle so you can really squish things well. It's sturdy and doesn't bend or flex even with a lot of force. I also love the color - it's bold and bright and brightens up my kitchen. It's easy to clean and has held up well in the dishwasher too without getting discolored or rusting.

I got this because we apparently eat too many mashed potatoes and my other masher is often dirty when I need it. This masher is a good, solid, quality masher, but compared to my other masher, I don't like it quite as much because the holes are a little too small so that it doesn't seem to mash quite as well. I should add that we usually keep the skins on our mashed potatoes and I think that's partly why the larger holes work a little better. All that being said, this is a very good quality masher and if I didn't have the experience with my other one mashing a bit better, I would think this was awesome, because it honestly is very good. I am happy to have it and based on the quality, I expect it to last a long time. If you don't keep the skins on, I think this would possibly work as well or better than my other one, but I haven't tested it that way yet.

Good size. Not over large. Love that it won't scratch my pots and will be easy to wash.
