Very versatile and highly recommended!
I have a slightly older version of the Pro X100, with the single HDD. It has been in my system for over 2 years now. The unit has had a warranty repair + operating system upgrade, and worked reliably since.It mainly functions as a NAS for my CD collection and as a streamer. Music also comes via the Qobuz plugin which has hi-res audio. I have used USB and toslink to connect with the DAC. Sound quality is very good but this depends also on the rest of the system. CD ripping works OK with most CDs, album art is still found most of the time, with the exception of some compilation CDs. I wanted more control over the ripping process so I do it on the PC and then transfer the files via the network to the X100. The device acts as the music server so I can play the CDs also on the ipad, phone or pc. On the iPad I have the Squeezepad App to control the X100. This way I use a subset of the functionality it has to offer : there are many 1000s of radio stations you can listen to and numerous other apps you can use (tidal, Spotify, BBC radio to name a few).So to sum it up, I recommend the cocktail audio pro X100 for sound quality, open file system, and scheer versatility. I also had a good experience with the customer support. I would buy the newer X100 if mine ever breaks down.
