Works for wood sanding
I am using it 4 woodworking sanding. The eye shield stops my eyes from getting eye boogers and the filtration stops dust in my lungs.

Comfortable, Easy to Wear; Seals Tight
The need for a full face mask is here as we start to repaint several rooms. The important aspects of this mask for the task of painting includes a sealed areas so I don't need to worry about paint fumes and a comfortable fit as it's going to take me at least a week for this DIY project at the house. The mask has easy to follow directions and it's necessary to read the instructions as it's important it's put together for blocking all the particles correctly. It took me about 15 minutes to put the mask together, including putting the filters in the areas provided, putting together the appropriate parts, etc. After this, I put it on and took a few extra minutes to adjust the mask angle so it fit properly on my head.Once it fit, you immediately notice the sealed containment area. It's not uncomfortable, but you recognize right away that your eyes, nose and mouth are away from the rest of the air. It doesn't fog up and it's not uncomfortable to wear either. You can breathe as you normally would and I started painting after I got it settled on my head correctly. The mask covers your face fully and also has earplugs, gloves and extra filters for future use. It's definitely easier to see than expected as you have a wider view to see out, but you might want to still use caution as you move about on your tasks. The final thing I want to mention is that you will need to change filters once it gets to a certain point. The manufacturer suggests if the filter is wet or dirty. I changed mine when I started to feel it was difficult to get air and it was an easy process.

Decent Product
This is a decent product. It fits and comes with a lot of cotton filters. I am not super sure if I would use it in an actual fire and doubt it is CBRN rated. My concerns with the product is how if you shake your head enough, some of the elastic tightening straps may loosen a few clicks. The box it came in was flimsy and thin as well. The thin box was delivered in an Amazon bubble wrap envelope and not a sturdier box. If the manufacturers of the gas mask went cheap on the box, and the mask wasn't even held in place in the box so it rolled around as it shipped, then that leads to questions about the quality of the mask itself.Additionally, no instructions were included on filter changes and such and you have to keep the box for any and all instructions as they are printed directly on the box, or you can reference the product page. There were also no instructions on how to get additional filters should you run out on the box, in the box, or on the Amazon product page.I would say this is probably good enough for everyday home use, such as painting, woodworking, or deep cleaning but I would not use it in any life-risking situations. What I mean by that is lab work, firefighting, mining, or toxic work. Which is ironic when the product page recommends using it in all those places. I would not bet my life on a gas mask that does not offer information on replacement filters and cannot even ship their product in a box or a method that will prevent harm to the mask in transit.

Good, Quality Respirator, but Not For Commercial Use
This respirator mask comes with a lightweight bag that had a couple wear holes just from shipping, so it’s not going to give it lots of protection, but will help to keep the clear shield from getting scratched – which is very important. The mask comes with two side-mounted carbon/cotton filters. The cotton filters that go on the outside of the carbon filters have KN95 stamped on them. Everyone in the US is familiar with the N95 designation which means that 95% of all airborne particulates are filtered out. That’s not 95% of the smallest particulates like viruses, that’s 95% of ALL particulates including ones you can see with your eyes floating around in front of you. The KN95 is the same as an N95, it just means it’s manufactured in China. In other words, the KN95 is the exact same as the N95.The KN95 will not, however, filter out dangerous volatile fumes. That’s why you also need the carbon filters to remove them. The two in combination are your best bet. Another critical part for an effective respirator/mask is the seal between the respirator/mask and your face. Most N95 masks do not have a good seal unless they are properly fitted every time they are put on.A quality respirator (which is much more than just a mask) will have a soft, flexible seal that fits easily, securely, and rapidly against your face every time without fail. It will also have an elastic 5-point headstrap that is easily and rapidly adjusted. This respirator has all of these. Most people commonly call this type of respirator a mask, although it really is much more. When tested, the mask sucked down tight against my face, meaning it had an airtight seal on my face – and I have a well-trimmed beard – that isn’t so well-trimmed at the moment. The mask is easily removed, and the straps are easily repositioned ready for the next time it is put on. It has a built-in nose cup to help keep the face shield from fogging over. The inlet air is directed across the inside of the face shield to also help clear it of any fogging that would appear. There are a few caveats, though. The face shield is large and gives a very good viewing area; however, because of that there are some areas where distortion appears. It’s distracting, though, not necessarily a deal killer. Also, because of its size and shape, there is no way to have a protective shield over it. Because of this, paint mist and other mists, scratches from bumps and scrapes, and all types of potential accumulation are permanent and will rapidly degrade the face shield. You can clean some mist and dirt accumulations, but eventually, scratches will appear and permanent damage will accrue.I did notice a rather strong, pungent odor when I put the mask on. I think it’s coming from the nose cup. Most likely it is leftover plasticizer and will eventually dissipate after being left out in the sun and breeze. Also, one reviewer mentioned something about using this in firefighting, um, you would never use this in firefighting unless it was in an open burn forest/brush fire. Firefighters use SCBA which provides compressed air from a cylinder they wear on their back. I know because I used to be one.Amazon Vine provided this product to me so that I could give an honest review. Would I recommend it? I give it a qualified, yes. This mask is well-built, with two side-mounted filters, robust, and made of quality materials with good features. However, because of the distortion and even more because of the lack of being able to protect the face shield, this mask is not for every day use in a professional or semi-professional situation. It’s fine for the occasional user, and really is a good, quality respirator. Plus, that odor is rather bothersome.
