is the cork sleeve removable for washing purposes?

Yes it is made of 2 separate parts held together by the leather sting (that simple hooks around twice). Hope it helps. You need to remove/undo them every time for washing/drying. I like more than just rinsing after every use and coffee stains come out easily from cork when cleaned regularly.

Does this have a cork neck as in the picture or plastic as per the review?

Yes it does have a cork neck as in the picture. I've noticed sometimes the reviews get mixed up when there are multiple versions of the same item.

What's the internal diameter of the waist?

Internal diameter is around 50mm

Is the tie real or imitation leather?

Yes seems real to me and it holds the insulation in place very well.
