Solid as a rock and excellent value
I don't usually write reviews but after seeing some of the poor reviews for this product before I bought it, I felt compelled to give my two cents. I was a bit nervous about this item at first but after assembly it was everything I wanted. The frame itself is super sturdy and easy to assemble. I will say that it is EXTREMELY heavy. I am a 6'4" 280 lb. man and getting this into my house was difficult to do by myself. After getting into my place, building it was a breeze. Everything is labeled numerically to the part that it is connected to so there is no way to mess this up even without the directions. As some have pointed out, this does sit low to the ground but the only thing I store under my bed are my firearm cases and they all fit perfectly so no complaints there. When I got my mattress loaded up after assembly I gave it a little test to see if it would slide on my hardwood floors. No matter how hard I bucked or jumped on it it didn't move. There were also some complaints about squeaking but I do not seem to have that issue. Finally, the whole setup looks wonderful and the wood grain matches the grain on my floors so all in all it is an excellent value for the money. Additionally, with the steel construction, this should last a nice long time. I am very happy with this purchase and would be interested in purchasing furniture from this company again in the future.

Smart engineering and great quality!
First off, I purchased this with a discount code and it is SO worth the buy - discounted or not! We purchased a King size and are extremely happy! This is a steel frame with bamboo for the wood. The quality is amazing for the price and I absolutely LOVE this company for the ease of assembly, quality and style. The instruction manual comes with pictures and a number system. 1 goes to 1 and so on. But they also have in the picture to show you which parts you're dealing with and the numbers mean you can't mess this up. The way they constructed it is so awesome. The pieces for the metal frame slide into each other and the quality of the bolts are amazing. They have a ratchet included with an allen wrench, and the ratchet is great quality. I'm keeping it for sure! It says up to 700 lb capacity, but this frame is solid. I'm sure it can handle more and some rough treatment with ease. we have carpet in our bedroom, so that helps to cushion. But this frame does not squeak at all. We've already tried rocking it around, jumping on it and this thing isn't going anywhere. The bamboo slats are thick and great quality, there's Velcro on the sides of the frame that keep them in place and everything was finished so nicely. There is two strips of adhesive on the slats. You peel that off and it's meant to keep the mattress in place. We didn't use it, our mattress has some weight to it, so we're not worried about it moving. I cannot express how overjoyed I am with this bed frame! Some other great pointers was the delivery and packaging. Delivery with prime came on time and within 2 days, so that was a blessing. And the packaging was well done, but not excessive. We don't have a bunch of packaging that was unnecessary for the recycle bin and trash. I love that! Even the styrofoam they had for packaging is the good kind and we're keeping that too lol! I highly recommend this product and I hope everyone else has an amazing experience like we did!

A great sturdy bed (doesn't move when 2 people are moving A LOT!)
This iron and wood bed is very sturdy. It doesn't move at all for us, or make any noises. We are a couple with 4 small kids, and so we know what we have to do to have "alone time"- we have to be QUIET! lol This bed is the answer to all that we needed- previously we had the mattress on the floor because we like the height of the bed low- this bed is 7 inches from the floor and the perfect height. My husband can get on his knees, and the side of the bed comes right to his hips (wink wink) and it has the iron headboard and foot board for sturdy handles to hold on to when moving around if you get my point. It sleeps amazing as well. The bed feels like it is more soft that when it was on the floor- I figure the wood slats help it have some give. We are about 450-500 lbs combined and I cant see it causing indentations at all in the mattress when we lay on it- it holds our weight great. I can see this bed lasting until we are old and gray. The company sent cute additions with the bed- a few cards to give to friends or family to say hello, and the best little rachet to help build the bed- that thing really helps!! Building the bed took about 1 hour with 2 people, it was self explanatory with the numbers matching to numbers. 1 fit into 1, 2 fit into 2, and so on. The slats were together and held together with velcro that was easy to apply. Sticky double sided tape for the mattresses on the slats to help it from sliding, which it hasn't done. I would definitely purchase this bed again. My mattress is a tempurpedic and is around 15 inches high, and it comes to right where the wood on the headboard starts leaving no gaps which is great. The only bad thing was that we had to wait on the bed for a longer time- Amazon shipped the wrong bed the first time- they shipped a gray bed that was a completely different model. If we had unboxed the bed, we would have never gotten it returned. Once the bed comes out of the box, it is almost impossible to get all of the pieces back into it, so check the box carefully to make sure it is correct before unpacking it. Also, once we got the correct bed, the box it was in was so damaged and looked so old and beat up- some of the iron bars had dents in them as my picture shows. They also scratched the wood headboard a little during transit. I paid around US 238 dollars for this bed- wait until it goes on sale!

Solid as a (comfortable) rock
I hadn't had any previous experience with Zinus, and as one of those brands which seem like a pop-up brand with no reputation except in online reviews (whether this is a legitimate observation or not, it was just my initial impression) I was a little apprehensive about purchasing a bed sight-unseen. I made the leap, however, trusting Amazon's generous return policy. And I'm (cue corny line) glad I did. Our previous queen bed was $500 at a local furniture outlet, and was very poorly made, despite being (mostly) solid wood. Fit had always been poor between components like the headboard and side bars, resulting in a wobbly, creaky bed that always felt like it was on its last leg. I wanted to stick with solid wood because we like the aesthetic, but have something that would eliminate the wobble and creakiness. I got the Metal and Wood Platform Bed with the footboard, in queen size. It was well-packed, incurred no damage in shipping, and was clearly labeled for assembly. Zinus's very well-thought-out system is to match together the parts of components which have matching number stickers (i.e. point #1 on one component attaches to point #1 on the other component). Metal frame components are thick and sturdy, and bolt together with no play whatsoever. The wooden head-and-footboards are heavy and solid. The finish may be mediocre, as they're not exceptionally smooth, but they look nice and the somewhat rustic feel actually works well. This is a super classy looking bed. Setup took me just over a half hour, the easiest project I had on that moving-day for certain. While the description for this bed indicates it doesn't need a box spring, it is a pretty low bed without one, and we chose to include our 10" box spring. The wooden slats do feel sturdy enough to be fine without it if you're worried about support, but along with our 12" memory foam mattress, the height feels just right. It does obscure part of the headboard once bedding/pillows are added, but the wood is still visible and the wood on the footboard ties it together. This thing is a rock! There is no play anywhere, it easily feels more impressively stable than almost any other bed I've slept in, including decent hotel beds. At less than half the cost of our previous low-quality bed, I'm extremely impressed. There is a separate ratchet included to be saved for any tightening that needs to be done post-assembly, but after a few nights it seems everything has stayed tight. I will certainly update with any further information.

Nice, sturdy bed frame
Very happy with this bed frame. The 7-inch height works perfectly with my 14-inch mattress. It’s comfortable, sturdy, and doesn’t make noise. Assembly was easy and quick. Great value overall!

Good Platform Bed
I've slept in my bed for a week now and after reading a lot of the reviews for this item I pulled the trigger. It is actually simple and easy to assemble. The wooden slats are attached via velcro and have two adhesive strips to help prevent the bed from moving excessive laterally which I can see wearing off after time but I'll jusy buy more when that time comes. I'm glad none of the parts were missing or damaged too because with any amazon product it may get damaged on its way to your destination and having this item being a bed frame worried me because it'd be a pain to put it back in the box after taking everything out and drop it off to ups considering I dont even have a car but I digress. I have a twin bed and the pillar center leg is not present on the twin bed frame which I read some reviewers complain about actually breaking through the floor after activites, that must only be there on queen/king sizes. Having about an 8" mattress there is about another 2-3" gap between the top of my mattress and the bottom of the headboard which doesnt bother me but I was prepared to buy a mattress topper if it did. This is a platform bed so it means it sits low to the ground probably no more than 3" so I did the calculations and added up how high my mattress would be from the floor with this frame before buying and most of the people who complain about this frame dont understand what it means to buy a platform bed frame. I liked the color of the headboard and foot board and overall look of this item too and I cant say I've heard any squeaks or noise so this frame is pretty sturdy and quiet. I'm a college student and I've had my matress on the floor for a few years now and I've been concerned about buying a cheap bed frame that would be squeaky when I got my gf over or just plain uncomfortable and I worried about not having enough to buy a good enough one. Im glad I got this one and it still makes me smile after a week. With that being said I never stored things under my bed and you shouldnt expect to with this frame. Overall its perfect and it ended up being exactly what I was looking for after hours of research and reading reviewers. Will update if I meet any issues with this product though.

How good can a king size frame be for around $260, right?
We're really impressed with this frame. Got this as a kind of temporary solution until we move out of our apartment and buy a place. Figured it would be decent enough to last a year or so, but didn't have super high expectations for build quality and fit/finish. How good can a king size frame be for around $260, right? Well it's actually pretty great. First of all I was struck by how hefty the box was. It weighed a lot more than I expected and that's because the metal components are really solid and the wood panels are a decent size and thickness (and yes they're real wood). The construction of the frame and how it screws together seems well engineered and I was able to assemble the frame by myself in around a half hour. Would have been even faster with a little help, but it was not difficult to do myself. The way it's built, you can take it apart in a few bigger pieces without disassembling the whole bed, so moving it should be pretty straightforward and low hassle. Assembly instructions are very clear and the number of steps is pretty minimal. Once assembled, the bed has no wobble, does not make any rickety noises, and feels very solid. Vigorous activity does not cause the headboard to smack into the wall, in case you were wondering. Another plus for me is that with a thick enough mattress, the footboard does not rise nearly as high as it appears to in the photos. We have a Tuft and Needle mattress with a memory foam topper and it is about level with the footboard. I don't really care for high footboards, so that's a win in my book. So, we got a way better bed frame than we expected and now we're not so sure we'll be looking to replace this one any time soon. It's plenty sturdy and really does look nice. Has kind of a mild industrial look to it without being overly trendy.

Wrong item received - but it worked out great in the end!
It arrived less than two weeks after ordering, which was unexpected, given that the shipping estimate was 2+ months. I ordered the queen size of this bed and paid extra money for a footboard-- yet I received the standard, non-footboard version, so my initial review was a 1-star for not getting the item I ordered. UPDATE: I had several options with Amazon's Customer Service. At first, I decided to set up the footboard-free bedframe and use it until my replacement bed with footboard arrived (as encouraged by the Customer Service representative, since it was estimated to be several months until the replacement arrived). However, once I had the frame set up, I decided I actually liked it without the footboard. At that point, I contacted Customer Service again, cancelled the replacement order, and was refunded the difference in cost between the two. The bed looks great, is incredibly sturdy, and was easy enough to set up (though a second pair of hands would've been useful at one or two points). Things I particularly like include: - The slats are held in place with Velcro. They aren't going anywhere. - There's padding along the central support strut to keep the frame quiet. It works. - The wood is a tiny bit darker than pictured, but I prefer how it looks in person. - Did I mention how sturdy this thing is? - There's peel-off paper to reveal a light adhesive along two of the wooden slats, intended to hold a mattress in place (though I skipped this for now) The one thing I'm a little disappointed about is just how low this thing is to the ground, but I knew what I was getting in that department-- just don't expect a lot of under-bed storage here.

It's perfect for me!
I assembled this alone on a very hot day last Summer of 2022. I'm 65 and not handy to say the least. I had to use a hassock to hold the first part up while I tried to figure out how to put the first bolts. It was a little annoying at first but a short learning curve and always looking at the very simple instructions had it slowly turning into a bed frame. I made a mistake at some point but it was easy enough to fix. The frame squeaked in the beginning. I tried checking all screw points. It doesn't seem to do this anymore. The bed moves a bit but I just push it back to where I want it to be once per day. I really like this bed frame and I use one good mattress for it that is high enough. I don't like a bed that is too low to launch off of. If it was a low mattress I would just get a low box mattress to go under the low mattress. You don't want to much height in your mattress and box spring or your head board will completely disappear. You have to account for your weight and the weight of your mattress and box spring as well. I think the capacity is 250 pounds for a twin. Again, I really like the look of the frame. I bought a "damaged" one for reduced price and it was all fine. Some people change the wood color with varnish but I like the color I got. A medium light wood color. It's mellow and a cheerful look.

A big ol’ ‘meh’
I waited a couple of months for this to come back in stock. Got it maybe June-ish? Return expired end of July. Whatevs. Taken me a while to get things straightened out in my Mb to put this together. Like I said, my return window closed, but I will have my 1/2 lb of flesh here Lines are a bit off but I can live with that. Or I have to now. It is a bit bigger than what was described. Not overly but glad my rug is wide enough to cover. Had to fudge some of the holes on the footboard. Pieces did not line up. Some light constructive drilling and voilà! Footboard frame came damaged (pics). They saved having to refinish it by simply panting damaged space with a gloss black paint, so not even close to a match. Derp. Installing the headboard, the numbers had you installing it shiny side out on backside of bed (pics - how it should look vs instructions) . Derp. That tells me 0 QC on assembly line or anywhere after. Putting together frame for headboard, a bunch of black gunk fell out (solid not paint shavings - pics). Yuck. Would I buy again? Maybe. But I’d hustle and check the box to make sure all is according to Hoyle. Wait til price goes down again to buy, seriously.

Nice piece of furniture but
Nice bed frame, I’m not the smallest woman and it is sturdy. The metal frame is superior, how it comes together is structurally sound and has really nice clean lines. How the bed was packaged was amazing, the box came damaged and I was scared the bed would be damaged but it was so well packaged the damage didn’t affect the bed. The only issue I had was: the wood was nicely stained but for a rather odd section, this obviously happened during production and went I reached out to the company (with pictures) asking if I could get a replacement piece they responded back with put my request through Amazon. So operator error, I really didn’t know how todo that, so I gave up and am living with it-sort of disappointed they weren’t prepared to work through my concern. So it has given me pause to ever buy from this company again.

Great looking and well built bed
I almost never write product reviews but I felt compelled to do so while I was putting this bed together. I purchased this for my 2 year old as his first big kid bed. I didn't expect too much from it with regards to the sturdiness or build quality because it was priced quite a bit lower than most anything I could find locally. When I opened the box the first thing that I noticed was how well packaged it was. The box was a bit roughed up during shipping but everything inside was in perfect condition. Then as I unpackaged the bed I was impressed by how thick the metal in the frame was and how nice of a finish was on the solid wood headboard and footboard. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the height of the bed with just a mattress on the frame. It is the perfect height to be a great fit for kids. I would recommend this bed to anyone and I will be looking at other Zinus beds to replace the bedframe in my master bedroom.

I love that Zinus cares that its customers are happy with a great product!
I am very happy with the Zinus Ironline platform bed I bought last month. The enclosed instructions (including the only tool I required) were clear, well illustrated, and I was able to put the bed together - without my husband’s help! I was very impressed with the cohesive packaging, EXCELLENT visual instructions , and the product itself. I was blown away by the marketing materials in the little green envelope that came with the bed! Very, very nice touch. I’m impressed the Zinus went the extra mile and cared enough to ask for feedback after the sale had already been made. I have the impression that Zinus and its employees truly care about providing a quality product and exceeding customer expectations. So - I went online to say ‘hi at zinus.com’, and that’s where I was a bit disappointed. Although I looked on the zinus website for a place to offer a very positive review, I wasn’t able to find any link that allowed me to provide feedback.
