Does NOT install as shown in the Video
The product listing has an installation video. The video is for some other model, or model year truck. There are NO bottom hinge bolts on a 2016 Ram1500, only spot welds. OMT provided for that, buy supplying a "nutsert", This is a threaded sleeve that works like a "Molly Anchor". It has arms that fold out as you tighten the installation tool. It is one shot hardware, you can't remove it if you get it wrong. The instructions are basic. So as a hint: Set up the install as shown, and then turn the NUT on the tool "righty-tight'y" (clockwise) and do not turn the bolt. You hold the bolt still , and tighten the nut 9 turns. A little more nut turning, if required to get the insert locked in place. After the nutsert is snugged up, and secure, only then, turn the bolt "Lefty-Loose'y" to back it out. When it is time to install the "shock" (gas strut) push the LOWER end on the ball mount first, then the top. There is not enough clearance to do the top first (as the instructions say to do it). The last step is confusing. They want you to take the lower end pivot of the stop cable off, and remove the rotation limiting tab washer. To do that you have to pry up a thin, tinnerman type, locking washer, they call a nut. Pry it up, grab it with pliers, and spin the bolt out of the locking washer. You will not use either the limiting tab washer or the thin metal locking washer. There is a short cylinder of hard plastic, that then "snaps" over the bottom end of the suspension cable, against the top of the cable loop clamp. Problem is, the cable is covered with a nice compliant (soft) plastic sleeve to keep it from rattling, and scratching. The soft sleeve does not want to go into that cylinder of hard plastic. A little plastic compatible lube may help, but not much. My sleeve just kept stretching until the cable was in the plastic cylinder, and most of the soft sleeve, was oozing out of the slot. Looked like crap, so I trimmed off what hung out with a utility knife. Thank goodness the actual cable is stainless steel, and won't rust. I filled the area I trimmed with black rubber sealant, from the auto parts store. The cable pivot bolts, top and bottom, originally had thread-locking compound on them. The kit supplies thread lock liquid, so I put it on the cable pivot bolt threads, top and bottom, before I re-installed, and tightened them up. When you are done, it works very nicely. The first time someone unlatches your tailgate, and lets it fall by gravity without restraint, you will be glad you installed it. Not sure how long the gas strut (shock) will last. The whole kit is less expensive than a replacement gas strut, so cost is not a big deal, if you get a few years use out of it.

Fits well!
The original purchase the envelope was issued to me empty even though it was signed by Joseph from the ups store. They don’t know what happened to it and where it was lost. They just sign packages as they come in and then organize them. That’s when they notice the envelope was open never sealed and my order missing. I did receive another one and it works great. One is enough but may order another one for the other side.

It's okay.
I kind of like it. I think the price was good. Easy to install. But you have to keep an eye on it when closing the tailgate. Sometimes the cable doesn't fold in the right position and binds up.

Don’t rely on the instructions
Instructions are not clear. Had to look up a video to see how to install.
