So Good, I Bought It Twice!
This Pentel Orenz AT Dual Grip pencil is, without a doubt, one of the best mechanical pencils I have ever used. It feels so solid and comfortable in the hand that after buying one for myself, I immediately purchased a second one for my son.The build quality is immediately noticeable. The full metal body gives it a satisfying weight that I really enjoy in a pencil, making it feel substantial and balanced. The textured grip is another highlight; it's incredibly comfortable and doesn't cause any irritation or fatigue, even during long writing sessions. What really sets the Orenz AT apart is its automatic lead feeding system. The lead advances itself as you write, so you never have to stop and click. This has been a game-changer for my son, who primarily uses print writing and benefits greatly from the continuous, uninterrupted workflow.A quick tip: to get the best performance out of this pencil, I highly recommend pairing it with high-quality lead. The mechanism is precise, and good lead makes the experience even smoother.I will absolutely be buying more of these in the future. It's the perfect gift for anyone in your life who truly values a great writing instrument. Highly recommended!

Writes And Feels Like A Pen, Amazing
I really love mechanical pencils, and the concept behind this one is that as the lead is used, the metal sleeve retracts as well, essentially providing a protection from snapping the lead. On top of that, a single click advances both lead and sleeve allowing for an extended use period.Design-wise, the pencil is very handsome with a "tech" feel and vibe. The texture is adequately grippy, but not aggressive and If I did not know better, would think this was a fine pen.Does this pencil provide more value at $20+ that other mechanical pencils at way lower price point do not provide? The objective answer is "no", at the end of the day this is just a mechanical pencil. However, if there was ever a reason or need to have a pencil to be proud of, that accomplishes both value in its visual design, and value in its utility as a really great mechanical pencil, the price point starts to make sense. The pencil is heavily machined, and is also metal, so it will have a weighted feel to it that honestly is quite a welcome sensation when writing with lead.Overall, this pencil is perhaps more than any pencil really should be but that is okay here. Great to write with, great to look at, and certainly unique.

Smoothest Mechanical Pencil I’ve Ever Used!
I’ve used a lot of mechanical pencils that auto-advance the lead, but this one is by far the best. The lead comes out perfectly as I write — no clicking needed, and no interruptions. What really stands out is how sturdy and solid it feels. There's zero wobble between the lead and the barrel, so it honestly feels like writing with a high-end traditional pencil. The grip and weight balance are also spot on — not too light, not too heavy, with a clean metal-like feel.If you want a mechanical pencil that’s smooth, steady, and truly seamless, this is it.

Really unique and fun pen to use. **Please read before purchasing!!**
I first heard about this pencil through an instagram reel which piqued my interest. The video stated that this pencil was able to automatically advance your pencil lead when you're writing. I purchased this to test this for myself and I have a few thoughts!**You will probably be a bit disappointed if you purchase this only for the auto-advancing feature**Reason being-- it's not how you would probably expect it to work. The pencil writes all the way down until you reach the metal sleeve and begins to write scratchy. It does somewhat write this way but it is not as smooth or as intuitive as you'd probably expect. Instead how I found I write with this pencil is to press the metal sleeve against something (for example the side of the notebook) and it pushes out the lead a little bit enough to keep writing. I do this every so often and it allows me to continue my flow of writing without having to adjust my hand and advance the lead from the back by clicking the pencil. Honestly, I'm not enough of a pencil fanatic to mind clicking the pencil for the lead (haha) but I'm sure some people are here to purchase for this feature so I hope they will read this review first before purchasing!Other than the elephant in the room-- I love this pencil. The quality of it is great and the weight feels nice. I really enjoy using it and I always reach for this one because it's just plain fun to use!

Feels amazing
The Pentel Orenznero 0.5mm Mechanical Pencil is a pleasure to use. It feels great in the hand—well-balanced and comfortable for long writing sessions. The lead advancement mechanism works exactly as advertised, delivering a smooth and precise experience. However, the eraser is a weak point; it wears down quickly and isn’t up to par with the rest of the pencil’s quality. Stock up on extra erasers or keep a separate one handy. Overall, it’s a fantastic pencil for precision work, but the eraser issue holds it back slightly.

Excellent form and function for general writing
With ain stein 2b lead, this thing is like writing with a fine tipped pen for me! The main features that may attract someone to this pencil is the fact you do not have to constantly click to bring out more lead and that because you do not need to extend the lead past the tip preventing you from snapping the lead while writing. Having a retractable tip also makes it pocket friendly.Ergonomically, it is probably one of the most comfortable pencils I have used that does not have a rubber grip and even better than some of those. It is also textured that ensures a fantastic grip regardless if my hands are dry or not.One minor quirk is that the mechanism has a slight rattle. I fixed this by taking the mechanism out of the body and putting a little wrap of tape to cushion the mechanism. Not sure if that is consistent across all models but if it is the case for you, that is a little fix.If they were to make some models that have different bright colors, I would most certainly pick one of those up!
