Review: The only food my kitties will eat every time - My eldest cats (age 4) are horribly picky. Not just your regular, to be expected cat pickiness. These girls will not touch about 70% of wet foods on the market, and we have tried a ton of them. The ones they will eat, is often just to trick me into a false sense of relief, as they won't eat it a second time. This is usually after I buy a 24 pack in my foolish happiness that they are eating. Luckily I have 8 more cats that I take care of who are not so difficult; some are my friendly ferals in my yard). Signature Select shreds is the holy grail. They eat it rapturously each and every time. (They don't care for the other styles). It has good ingredients and even looks hi-qual; doesn't stink and doesn't splatter out when I open the can. Unfortunately, this joy comes at a high price: $3.50 a 5 oz can at full price. I only buy it when it's a good Subscribe n Save deal, like $28 for 12 x 5 oz cans, making it $2.35 a can. Even that is a lot for me, considering I go through 5 or 6 cans a day, supplemented with dry food. I'm not down to spend $90/week on wet cat food, so my diva darlings eat it when we get it, and the others get a little scoop here n there. Hey, the squeaky wheel gets the most oil! Review: MOLD IN CHICKEN - *********MOLD********* I normally don't make time to review any product but this time is different. After over 15 years I have been feeding my cats Wellness cat food dry and wet food. I always trusted this brand name. They had tried all flavors and mostly their favorites were: Wellness Core Grain-free Signature Selects Approximately 3 months ago was the first time that I noticed mold in the meat not the cans but the meat from the chicken and liver kind. First I thought maybe was a bruise, as you know the chicken get abused very badly before k*****g thm. They get stompped or thrown. poor birds :-( But no, this was not what it was. So I thought was one time issue. I had other kinds of issues like receiving bent cans or smashed but not mold. So I purchased more same and other kinds of seafood and chicken, same brand of course with no problem (think). Unfortunately in the last 2 weeks the ones I purchased, from every case of 12 every other one I opened contained one or more pieces of mold and others tiny black dots, hard to see sometimes unless you really look. Boneless Chicken and liver entree. Boneless Chicken & beef entree Boneless chicken and turkey entree. *********PROBLEM******* The problem is that last week I imagine I missed the bad cans and my 4 cats got very sick. I'm sure was related to this issue. They become with allergic reaction. Diarrhea, throwing up,sneezing, coughing. Watery eyes. But one of my cats who has FIV Got the worst part. He has been sick since last Wednesday and still not eating. When I try to offer food he start sneezing. He has been hiding most of the day. I ordered some sea food kind from Wellness as you know switching food is not easy either specially when their whole lives they have been eating this same kind. I spent 3 hours looking, comparing other brand names and still can't find one that I trust or I can afford. It took me so long to find this brand years ago. After trying 6 different kinds I ended with Wellness. Was affordable and good on my cats digestive system. I don't understand what's going on with the quality of this brand now. ********WATCH OUT********* If you recently purchased these type of wellness food please check one by one by putting them into a plate with enough light so you can see if is contaminated before feeding them. If from a case of 12 you find 2, assume the rest is moldy too. Remember, the health of your love one depends on you. :-)

Inconsistent quality
UPDATE: I actually lowered my review to 2 stars because the inconsistency continues to be a problem and varies from case to case. Some cases are great and others have about half liquid and half food. My cats are hungry after finishing because there was not enough food. Some cases come packed with food and more minimal liquid. Since it varies by whole case, I have to believe that this is intentional in the processing and the company just assumes that people who buy it at the store by the single can will get a mix of the good with the bad. I like the ingredients for the most part and my cats like this food, but I'm going to go in search of a more consistent food where I'm not paying so much for a can that is half liquid. I'm tired of paying for water. It's not like this is cheap food. Disappointing. I order monthly and this last batch came with so much less actual food in each can and so much more gravy/sauce. It hasn't been like this previous to this batch, so I hope this is a one time thing or I will have to stop purchasing. Our cats do love this brand and it has better ingredients than many other brands for a reasonable price.

high quality cat food that our cat's love
My cats used to gladly eat up whatever I set down for them, but in the last few years their tastes have become far more discerning. They tend to get tired of things after a few months, and there are some foods they just don't like at all. In my experience, its usually the ones that smell the most. This food is their favorite by far. They lap it up as soon as its set down and they beg for more. The chicken is easily recognizable and looks high quality. its in long thin strips in a thick gravy. The best part is, it doesn't stink up my house when I serve it. Great cat food!

Cat loves it...
My cat loves this food. It is a bit more expensive than your typical Iams or Purina brands, but it is supposed to be better for them and more natural. At least that is what my vet tells me. Not sure if they have stock in the company. On a serious note, all the research in pet food I have come across with natural ingredients this brand was listed as best for the buck. She loves it. That is what matters to me.
