The chocolate came very lovingly wrapped by the seller. It was obvious that someone tried really hard to make sure the chocolate bar didn't break or melt. First the bar was wrapped in a layer of bubble wrap, then a layer of ice packs, and more bubble wrap. This really impressed me. The flavor was good, it has subtle notes of grapes and fruit. I read you're supposed to let the chocolate melt on your tongue so you can taste the subtleties of flavor. I have gestational diabetes, but I've been craving chocolate. My doctor said I could have small pieces of very high percentages of cacao. This hits the spot, thanks.

I generally like a bitter sweet chocolate above 70%. Unfortunately, even though I am a huge fan of Valrhona’s bars for their sensual, silky texture, this one was a real disappointment. The flavor was unnuanced, uninteresting and simplistic, and the texture was dry.Valrhona’s Tainori is one of my absolute favorites, even though it has a bit more sugar than this one.Even Aldi’s single origin bars in the 73% range are more appetizing.There’s also an incredible Vietnamese chocolate you can order from Santa Barbara chocolates, though it’s couverture and clocks in at about 73%.There’s also a resource called “chocolate ratings” where you can read reviews of, mostly dark, chocolates from all over the world. I guarantee you will find some far more delicious options there.

The price was ridiculously high. I knew it when I bought it but needed it for a recipe.

You may wonder why this chocolate bar is so much more expensive than the regular Valrhona 85%. The answer is because it’s twice as good. Rich, dark, velvety - exquisite
