New Student Study Bible-NRSV

My chaplain let me borrow his copy. It was so good I had to buy the exact one so I could give the chaplain back his copy. Surprised this was still available.

This Bible was given to me when I first started studying seriously about 20 years ago. I have many Bibles, but this is my go-to for everyday study, and I've purchased copies for many other people as well. I have found that the introductions to each book are engaging without being a burden to read. The small commentary notes within chapters are both thoughtful and brief, and perhaps what I like best is that they very often comment on the more challenging questions that arise during the study of any given chapter. I am finishing up my studies in Seminary now, and this Bible is still the one that I use every day.

You are assigned to read different chapters from the bible in groups that tell specific stories. This brings continuity & harmony that I did not feel before following this method. Well planned lessons. For once I am actually enjoying the bible. If you are really want to understand the bible, I think you will be quite please with the lesson presentation.

Received in very good condition. Excellent for the Bible Study Group and notes are of good insight for group discussions.

This is my second buy on this same Bible, first one lasted several years, not bad for a paperback. I really like this format in the NRSV, perfect for the "mature" student.
