This air filter averages 18 pleats per ft vs. 12 - 16 pleats per ft in most store bought filters. Merv 13 air filters are used when seeking leed certification. After construction, before move-in, they are used along with outside air ventilation for about two weeks to flush the air of allergens generated from the build. Then, prior to occupancy, a new merv 13 air filter is installed. You may have noticed when selecting air filters at your favorite store that they are flimsy and can bow easily. Our filters are not like that. Every filter is manufactured with commercial quality. A bottom beverage board, tray-like frame is laid down, the wire-back pleated media is placed inside, then a the sturdy, moisture-resistant beverage board top frame is laid on top and glued to the bottom frame. Must Buy
Purchased 12 (12"x20"x1") at $6.55 each, local cost is 18.00 each. MERV 13 rate is accurate. I have been in the a/c field for 35+ years and these are Top Quality for the cost. They are made of heavy duty cardboard with exterior grade glue at all connections, no leakage around filter element and cardboard frame, expanded metal support structure to prevent element failure. I have them installed in my home in 2 return air filter housing grills (one per floor) for the past 2 weeks. The fitting size was snug for the existing frame. The only issue is they are not individually packaged, loose in box. Will purchase again.

The Filters Were Not Cut to the Right Size
They did not cut these right regarding the size, so they were too big, and thus unusable. And by the time it was time for me to use them, it was past the return-period window.The listed size in the title 10 x 16 x 1 is the rounded-up size that these filter companies use. The actual cut size is supposed to be 9.5 x 15.5 x .8. If you read all the text on the page you'll see that these numbers are listed. But sadly, this company did not send the two filters I ordered in that correct size.I would never order from this company again.

Long time to wait for a shady product
The item was received irreparably damaged. I understand that accidents happen en route, but there are mailing precautions any seller takes for an item that can be easily crushed or bent (such as a stiffer box). Moreover, the item is advertised as a MERV 13 filter - a very good rating. However it seems this is actually a cheaper item with the MERV 13 sticker just added on. There are no other identifying marks other than air flow directions and size descriptions. The item I received was loose in the box and does not appear to be the one pictured. Maybe they are the same product, maybe they really are the listed rating, but what I received and how I received it doesn't make me terribly confident.

I needed a filter that is 16X18X. I got one that is 15 1/2 X17 1/2 . When the product description states a particular size, and I purchase it, that is due to the fact that I really need THE ACTUAL SIZE I ordered. WHY make them different than what's advertised?

Allergens/smoke removed
Bought one of these after the Thomas fire left us with bad air for a long time. After two months I replaced with a new one and it really showed the dirt from the air before filtering. great product. Saved our lungs here in Ventura

Filters seem to be decent quality and defiantly reduce the amount of dust but the packaging came crushed and I had to spend a fair amount of time bending the wire support back to shape.

These run smaller
These run smaller on the 18x24x1 about a half of a inch on 18 is actually 17.5. The 24 is actually 23.5 the 1 inch is actually 1 inch.

I'd buy again
I am hoping these are really pulling out what they advertise. I've been getting from Home Depot for years a similar big brand name model we've been very happy with, but these allow us to turn over more often due to the cost.

I had to make some alterations to make it fit my furnace. Not the fault of the filter. Dimensions are accurate. It really helps my springtime allergies.
