There is no coffee in the world this good!

These are great (when they are 25 bucks). The price fluctuates a lot. The coffee is good and the pods are aluminum, so it crushes properly in my machine (plastic pods are horrible and a waste). Flavor is good, not too acidic, pretty smooth actually.

Was looking for a less expensive strong roast option that tastes good and I think these are doing the trick.

I have used over 700 Lavazza capsules a year for the last 5 years. They are an excellent flavor blend and the aluminum caps are attractive. I used the plastic capsules before the aluminum was available. So why 1 star? The newer aluminum design has serious issues. It fits well into my Pixie but the capsule is not designed well internally or the length isn't quite right. Many times the capsule begins to crush under pressure and stops in mid cycle. Sometimes it locks up my machine and I can't get it open without brute force. They are extremely hard on the machine and the pump. It seems that the problem varies somewhat from lot to lot. I get some boxes that operate fairly well and then about 40% of the time I have major issues. Also the problem seems to be greater with the Ristretto than the medium intensity pods. For a product made in Germany, I am so disappointed. My Pixie is over 10 years old and I really don't want to kill it to save some money on compatibles. It seems the aluminum pod was rushed to market before all the design flaws were fixed. I expect more from Lavazza.
