Q: are there any reviews to determine if this product is any better than the less expensive models?

I have never used the less expensive models but I do know these work. I bow hunt a lot. For some reason at the end of last season the deer would wind me no matter hoe much scent control I used. I bought the Ozonics and it was pretty amazing. Deer that were normally winding me were relaxed and didn't have a clue I was there. Changed the way I hunt this season. I haven't heard a snort since.

Q: can you mount this to a tripod?

I think you would be able to mount this to a tripod. It allows me to mount it to a tree . I am not 100% positive but it looks like it would. I am so happy with this purchase. Hope this helps you.
