Very useful- another good one
I've read other books by this author and he has some very useful teen help books on various mental health subjects. This was another good read. I didn't understand how children with ADHD might not understand personal boundaries as much, and I just thought it was a normal childhood thing. But that was helpful info.

A little lacking
The topic of how mental issues affects the genders differently is one that should be explored and I appreciate the direction in which this author was going. The information is easy to digest but it doesn't have enough source material or citations for my tastes.

Great book!
I'm learning so much about my own childhood trauma. I wasn't diagnosed ADHD until my late 50s. It just wasn't a thing when I was growing up to have your child diagnosed for anything that wasn't life threatening. Interesting to me was that all the things my mother didn't do for me, I instinctively did for my daughter. This book has been helpful on multiple levels. I'm learning how my ADHD affects my everyday life and how I can change a negative outcome by applying many of the principles in the book. If you have ADHD (any age) or your daughter does, you definitely should get this book!

Great Guide to the Challenges of Inattentive ADHD
I do wish though that it gave some more guidance for Hyperactive ADHD in girls. I also would like to have seen more discussion of the unique strengths that can be found in ADHD.

Lightvulb moment
This is an excellent book focused specifically on girls struggling with ADHD and having just had a diagnosis for my daughter I felt like this book helped me suddenly make sense of a lot of what has been going on for months. In aaddition it contains practical tips on how to support a girl who is struggling with ADHD and has been masking what has been going on. It also made me as a parent feel better as I realised I am not the only parent to not recognise inattentive ADHD as the cause of a myriad of struggles. I highly recommend this book on this basis.

Good book
I picked up this book as I've been reading a bunch of material about parenting and specifically parenting girls. I really like the chapter on positive parenting. The four golden rules set up a simple approach to keeping your interactions with your child positive and productive. I also really enjoy the emphasis put on consistency in this chapter. The idea of consistency outweighing the pursuit of perfection makes sense and is an easy shift to help avoid paralysis of analysis. I love the journaling prompts at the end to help make journaling easier to get into, and moreover, I really appreciate that each prompt is recommended for a specific age group. Good book with solid advice and tools.

Girls are different
I really appreciate that the author has outlined the difference between boys and girls in how adhd shows up. So many validating points but what's more important is the strategies he suggests are constructive and employable. Reflections and exercises are included in the back.

Amazing! Filled with scripts and practical methods to try for diferent age groups.
Another excellent book by Richard Bass, this time with a heavy focus on positive parenting for girls with ADHD, possibly the first book that includes strategies from the age of 3, which is refreshing and encouraging in my situation! I love the tips, scripts and exercises for each different age group. If we can intervene earlier as parents, our chances of reinforcing our little girls' strengths, forming a deeper bond, and helping them grow with more self-confidence can make them and us (parents) happier humans. This is definitely a book to keep coming back to - one technique at a time!
