The package was delivered by Evri not Amazon Logistics. The ashtrays are made of a clear vacuum-formed plastic. The blue filling comes supplied in small water-dissolvable bags and is made from a polymer that absorbs the water which turns into a gel (like crushed orbeez.) To get started, grab a new ashtray and place a bag of the blue filling inside. Fill the ashtray with water to BELOW the fill line embossed on the inside of the ashtray, then wait for about 5-10 minutes for the outer bag to break down and the blue filling to disperse and completely absorb the water. Using the amount of water that the packaging suggests will get you a runny soup instead of a gel, therefore I recommend using less water. I'm happy to report that the product seems to trap smells, even when the ash is sitting on top of the gel in the ashtray. The life of each ashtray can be extended by periodically mixing the gel with the ash and butts to bring some of the cleaner gel from below, up to the surface. When it's ready to go in the bin, put the full ashtray in a water-tight bag, then dispose. As the gel is not thick enough to support itself so it will spill out of you're not careful when disposing of it. Important to note, firstly, the small clear plastic bags that the blue gel powder is supplied WILL break down in water, meaning you do not need to pour out the powder before adding the water. Warm water will probably make this process go faster, however cold water works fine, it just takes a few minutes for the bag to break down enough for the powder to be released. Secondly, this is not an environmentally friendly product. Neither the plastic ashtray nor the blue gel filling will naturally degrade in landfill. The ashtray itself could be recycled if you're willing to clean and wash it out completely though. Finally, with a normal ashtray, you can place your cigarette in the indent on the edge to hold your cigarette when you're not smoking it, however if you were to do this with this ashtray, it's likely that the end inside the ashtray would touch and absorb some of the water from the gel and make it unsmokeable.
