Skilcraft U.S. Government Retractable Ball Point Pen, Fine Point, Black Ink, Box of 12 (7520-00-935-7135)

I purchased the Skilcraft U.S. Government Retractable Ball Point Pen and have been very pleased with the quality. The pens write smoothly with consistent black ink and the fine point gives clean, precise lines without smudging. They’re comfortable to hold for long writing sessions and the retractable design is convenient and durable. What I really appreciate is that these pens are dependable for everyday office work, note-taking, and forms. The ink flow stays steady and they don’t skip like some cheaper pens do. The box of 12 is also a great value for the price. An added bonus is knowing these pens are made through programs that support employment opportunities for Americans who are blind or visually impaired. Overall, a solid, dependable pen that performs exactly as expected. Highly recommended for home, school, or office use.

I spent 22 years in the Marine Corps (89-11) using these Skilcraft US Govt ink pens. Now, well into retirement it feels great writing with them again. Pro: writes great, slim, comfortable Con: none A classic ballpoint pen with proven ability. I've carried one in uniform in many countries and logged more hours than I know writing. Great quality, very easy to find refills.

Working my way through my first box of these pens and I love them. I'm a bit of a pen geek and these are sweet. (I have many fountain pens, from Lamy Safaris to Pilot Vanishing Points, etc. plus a variety of others both cheap and expensive.) Exactly seven parts fully disassembled, each well-made. The metal parts (except the brass ink cartridge) are ferrous so they stick to a magnet; great for hanging on a desk or the fridge. Yeah, there are a lot of pens that are cheaper but this is a true price performer. Some complain about the 'wiggle' when you write but every pen of this inexpensive retractable style has that -- and it's honestly part of the charm of this little guy. I now always have a few in my every-day-carry bag. At under two bucks if someone asks to borrow it I'm likely to say "just keep it" to share the love :) Look for videos that show how to rearrange the parts into a toy cannon. Hilarious!

Well, I forgot how much I like-I mean love, this pen. I will admit, I am a pen-aholic. If it is not bolted down, I take it. I don't even realize I have done it, until I start looking at my work desk, my garage, my dresser, my filing cabinet, you name it they are everywhere. When I was horribly busy one day at work, I went looking through an old desk that appeared that had been undisturbed since the 80s. Not much in the drawers, lots of junk and what? A u.s. government pen? Let me just hold that a second.... I used it the rest of the day, and often I have to write on wet papers in my job. This was actually working. It writes on everything, and leaves a mark. Try it, then try to remove the mark. Good luck. I also have a problem with loosing pens. I was afraid of loosing my beloved new found pen. The last time I had a plethora of these pens, I was in the military. So, I wanted to see if I could order them. My first choice, naturally was amazon. Here they are Had a few issues with shipping due to the easter holiday, however once it shipped I got it the next morning before 8 am, so one day shipping (overnight) from wisconsin to seattle is great. Overall this works in all weather, as I work mainly outside, doesn't leak, and the clip is awesome. I have 12 now, and probably won't need to get more pens for quite some time. This pen has helped me to become less of a pen-aholic, as I have begun to give away all of my other pens on a daily basis.

They do what I would expect of them. They really don't feel like much. I definitely wouldn't pick them up and think I want this pen, they write ok but I find when I pick them up to use them I need to scribble on something first to get it moving and then it seems to work fine untill it sits for a while. When I heard goverment spec pens I expected heavy duty, and comfortable pen. But they honestly feel like something that would be put out with the expectation it would disappear. That's just my personal opinion. They seem to have a good clip, they are very lightweight and so far they are all still working.

These pens are just like I remember from my time in the Marines in the '90s. The pen itself is a hair over 5 inches long (~130 mm), with a hard plastic body, small pocket clip, and oddly-satisfying clicker. Despite their somewhat cheap feel and austere simplicity, they always seem to get the job done. I've found old Skilcraft pens in the bottom of old moving boxes, and they write like the day I left them there. There's no need to shake the pen around, lick the point, or run the tip under a lighter to get it working again. I've dragged them through the mud, left them outside for days, and even run them through the wash, and they just keep on writing. I've used these pens to stir coffee, measure distance on maps, press small reset buttons on electronics, write letters, sign checks, take notes, and so much more. There's something comforting in having a pen I know I can count on when I need it. In the off-chance one does fail, I have plenty more because they're cheap. I'll always keep a box or two of these Skilcraft pens around.

Cheap and high quality pens. I love supporting this company, who in turns supports individuals who are legally blind. The pens are built well and can put up with some abuse. Sometimes the metal collar at the tip come “loose” and have a springy-action (this does not impact use). The pens are easy to use and fit inside most pockets. The ink is dark and bold enough to stand out on paper, especially considering it is not a gel pen. The small barrel size can be uncomfortable for some to use, especially if you have arthritis. For most though, the small barrel size is good for accurate and fine lines.

Been using these pens for over fifty years. I actually prefer them over more expensive and fancy ballpoint pens. If they're good enough for the U. S. Government, they're good enough for me.
