Red Heart Super Saver Yarn-Light Blue, Acrylic, 11.67 x 27.4 x 11.67 cm

Very cool wool! I wanted red, white & blue for a project; when I got it I knitted a blanket square, just to try it - and it came out (more or less) as the American flag! I imagine when it's knitted in straight rows this will be clearer. The blue is mottled through with white, giving a "stars" effect and the red and white are long enough to give "stripes". Good quality too.

I have always wanted to try Red Hearts super saver yarn ever since watching youtube videos for knitting and crochet.This was my first one and I love it!!It is Worsted weight, number 4 yarn which for us British is similar to an Aran weight yarn and knits up perfectly to Aran patterns. The first thing I made was a hat for myself and one for my daughter and they turned out gorgeous, they are lovely and warm also soft too.The colours in this print are lovely and the photo does not do it justice.It knits up beautifully and is nice to knit with. I have heard from other reviewers that it is a rather rough yarn best suited for blankets and such but I find it quite soft. I also understand that if it is washed and tumble dried it gets even softer but looses its shape over time so I shall see how my hats fair, I will keep you posted.A lovely yarn in a nice big ball (144g, 5oz ball) slightly smaller than the plain colours as they are 7oz balls but in 2 balls I had enough to make 2 bobble hats 3 pompoms (one went wrong so had to remake it) and a pair of gloves.Have ordered more to make a scarf.

This is a brilliant yarn and it does look exactly like camouflage when it's crocheted or knitted up, which is brilliant.The reason I only gave 4 stars is because I feel that it is a very stiff yarn, it worked up well, although it is not very soft, but it was perfect for what I needed it for, which was making military styles Dementia/Alzheimer mats

Lovely aran feel yarn and colours, just didn't realise these are older designs from Red Heart which these colours can be used for planned pooling methods (complicated) I kept the yarn and finally made sense of these short frequency of colours changes.Great to use but time consuming and not for beginners if want to make good user of yarn colour changes instead of random effect. I ended up using mix of 5, 5.5 & 6mm hooks to achieve result.

Lovely yarn to crochet with. Beautiful blue and excellent value for money. I went up a couple of hook sizes to get the drape I wanted.

I love this yarn. I previously bought another make and was so disappointed that the colours bled into each other, making colour pooling very difficult. The red Heart yarn only has a limited colour sequence so the Argyll effect is not as intricate as with the other yarn but it is so simple to use and there is no bleeding between the colours. Like some other customers I found the yarn a bit stiff but yes it does soften on washing. I've ordered several more balls and can't wait to start working on my pullover when they all arrive.

I bought Americana and found that I needed a 6.5mm crochet hook to get any drape as the yarn is quite firm.It’s lovely to work with, no splitting and because I used a large hook it drapes well.However, I am a little disappointed in the way it has been dyed as it has bled onto the white parts and a lot of the blue hasn’t taken up the dye so there are white bits. The red seems to have taken up the dye well.I’m going to keep going with the shawl as overall I like it but just a shame that it wasn’t more evenly dyed.I wonder if I have been sold a ‘second’.
