How is the sole? Is it grippy? I'm afraid of slipping with the flat sole. Does it have good traction/grip?

Yes, very good grip and very comfortable. I have not worn them in wet weather yet, but no slipping.

Are the insoles easily removable?

No, I tried to remove them but was not successful. However my orthotic inserts fit in well and the shoes are extremely comfortable.

Do they pass through metal dector?

Yes, they can pass through metal detectors.
