Good thickness
Being 4mm thick is so much better than my previous Mat which was only 2mm. My chair moves smoother on it as well. Only time will tell how long it lasts but it does feel that it could last a long time.

Does the Job — Works Very Well
Bought this "FLODI. Office Chair Mat for High Pile Carpet Floor (90 x 120 cm) 4 mm Thick, Highly Transparent Clear PVC Floor Protection Mat with Studs, Durable and Shatterproof"I have an office type chair on wheels/castors that were digging into my newly fitted 10mm thick underlay and high pile carpets, the total thickness of underlay plus carpet is around 17mm. The wheels dug in so badly that I couldn't just push with my feet on the floor and move the chair around to suit myself at the desk, the wheels were just 'locked' into the carpet. This, to say the least, I found very, very irritating. Hence I thought to make this purchase but at the time of purchase I thought this might be some kind of a mistake. In any case, I clicked the "Buy Now" button and that was that. The parcel was delivered from Germany far faster than I expected. It was sent as flat-pack which I thought was good — no problems with something that is rolled-up and won't lie flat on the floor. When I took delivery of the parcel I was surprised by the weight of the mat, it sure isn't light. When I took it out the package, which was easy to do, and saw the mat itself, I thought, no, this is a mistake. In any case I put it in front of my desk wheeled the chair onto it, popped myself onto the chair, pushed and pulled with my feet, and, Yes! It works really well — chair wheels on the mat without any issues at all. So in the end the purchase wasn't a mistake. The mat is just what I need and it does its job well. I would also note that when wheeling the chair on the mat the mat itself doesn't move, the 'studding' on the underside of the mat prevents this, only the chair moves (as one want things to be).For robustness of this 4mm thick mat that I bought I would say it pretty much looks like it will last.In all I'm pretty pleased with the mat and would recommend it, it does what it claims to do on thick carpeted floor coverings. For anyone wondering, the wheels on my chair at their widest point are 70cm apart. When ordering the mat the only the option available for a mat that might suit my chair wheels was of a mat that was 90cm wide. I wasn't at all sure if this would suit the wheel-base of my chair: was 20cm enough to comfortably accommodate the chair wheels at their widest distance apart? To my surprise the 90cm wide mat suits the chair wheels distance very well. I have no issues with the wheels coming off, or even looking like they might come off, the mat.Edit: Some Additional Information: For anyone wondering if it is possible to cut, saw, the mat the answer is yes. My mat wouldn't go between the legs of my desk and when I pushed my chair into the position I would prefer it to be in it meant that the 'front' wheels of the chair were off the mat and digging into the carpet again. I decided to risk cutting the mat a bit so that I could wheel my chair under the desk properly. I used an power jigsaw with a metal cutting (i.e. hacksaw) blade and did the cut at a fairly slow speed. The cut produced cut edges that had lots of plastic 'granules' sticking to the cut edges. To remove them I had to use a metal file, but once that job was done all was fine and now my chair rolls in and out of under the desk without problems. Pleased again, it's a good mat.

Bit of a delivery delay, but now that it is here I'm happy. Looks good. Hope it lasts long.

So much better than cheaper alternatives!
This is worth the extra money, I expect it to last a very long time. I started WFH full-time in Jan 2020. I bought a carpet protector for £35 that lasted 2.5yrs. Replaced it with one for £25 that has lasted 1.5yrs. Decided to splash out on this one for £45 and expect it to last at least as long as the previous two combined - hopefully much longer! It's delivered flat, which is a bonus - no messing about for half an hour with a hairdryer trying to get it to unfurl. And it doesn't smell strongly of plastic like the previous ones! The 4mm thickness feels so much more substantial. The previous one I had was 2mm (don't know about the first one), and this one feels so much sturdier - almost like it could be indestructible...Very good quality product - if you are mostly based at home, this is well worth spending a little extra on.

Really good quality.
Delivery was to the later date that they said but to be honest not a problem. The quality is great, really thick, looks about 3mm. The small 'buttons' on the underside really grip the carpet. Not a bad word to say about it. 👍

Not lasted one year
Seemed good quality to begin with but the mat has just started to shatter and split leaving sharp edges with spikes everywhere and completely useless, used for less than a year - go for a better quality mat!

Lives up to the description, buy with confidence!
4mm thick and, unlike the previous one from a different supplier that cracked in several places, this chair mat copes very well with the deep pile carpet that it's protecting. The five wheeled office chair with me sitting on it glides easily - and has no adverse effect on the chair mat whatsoever.Buy with confidence!
