Arctic Farms Freeze Dried Ice Cream Bits Bagged and Boxed - Does Not Melt (Neapolitan Mix, 2.5oz)

Sent as part of a food gift pack and recipient was over the moon with these ice cream bits. They actually thanked me twice. Once for the entire gift and mentioned these and then texted again later to say how yummy tbese were and made them nostalgic for when they were kids.

The straw is definitely my favorite… It’s my new way to enjoy ice cream… I don’t love the way it melts in an Arizona summer lol

Just like I remember. Not exactly inexpensive but still worth it.

This freeze dried ice cream/ ice cream candy is finger-licking delicious. The chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors taste just like the original ice cream, except that it's dry and crunchy. After all this scrumptious praise so far, there's only one thing I have to gripe about here. It's just that the amount for each bag is so small. There's only 2 servings per bag and it's not hard to eat over 1 serving of this freeze dried treat before you even realize it. I try my best to eat this dry ice cream treat sparingly, but one bag would only last me 2 weeks to 3 at most. I can't imagine how fast it would go if I lived with kids in my house. I guarantee you that with kids, over half the bag or as much as 3 /4 s the bag will be eaten up the first day it comes home unless you it hide away from them. If your children get their little hands on this bag in the kitchen, they will bust it open and gobble it up like little piggies until there would be very little left for you grownups! My main point and gripe which prevents this from getting 5 stars: the bag and the amount of ice cream candy offered here is just too small! I would gladly pay twice as much to get a "Family Size" bag of this Neapolitan freeze dried ice cream with at least double the amount of dry ice cream chunks that you're getting from this bag ( If only a larger Family size bag existed!). Otherwise I'd have to spend over 100 bucks to get a bunch of bags worth a month supply here. In all its deliciousness, there were so few pieces per bag that I felt I was overpaying and not getting my money's worth. I give it a yummy 4 1/2 stars but not quite a 5 - due to it's disappointingly frugal / stingy quantity per bag.

For whatever reason, I love freeze dried ice cream and, until a few years ago, it was pretty easy to find it from a couple of different brands at outdoor goods stores or science museums. Then they suddenly stopped manufacturing it (specifically the neopolitan ice cream, not in sandwich form) 4 or 5 years ago and I've since been on a quest to find a good replacement. I've tried quite a few different brands, from random Etsy shops and other online stores. None of them have been nearly as good as the one that used to come in a little block, until I found this! There's a very slightly different flavor to the strawberry, but otherwise it's a 10/10. Don't try all the other ones - this is the one.
