I was really excited to find an automatic laser toy for my cat. This one appeared to be well made and allowed me to put it on a countertop or table compared to the tower-shaped or mushroom-shaped ones which require you to put it on the ground in the middle of your cat's play area. Unfortunately the 3 speeds didn't function, even though the laser works through all 4 modes. There are several clones of this device, and I would happily pay $5 more for a higher rated one that's hopefully more reliable.Edit:Modifying my review from 1 star to 4 star since the replacement works with the proper movement of the laser. It moves in a way that's engaging for my cat, with slower/larger sweeping motions that make my cat follow along and grab his attention, and then switching to shorter, more localized back-and-forth movements that make him want to attack the dot. I generally can't spend more than 10-15 minutes manually playing with him with a laser toy, and this thing runs for 30 minutes at a time. I can set it before I leave for work, and at least he'll be more engaged throughout the day. I really wish it had a timer, or allowed me to leave it on all day (I use rechargeable batteries and have plenty to swap out). The only annoyance is that the battery cover is attached with one screw, rather than a snap on, but I'm assuming it's to prevent a cat from popping off the cover by knocking it over. It's not quite as engaging since the laser often lands on him and disappears from his slight when he chases it, but it's far better and more engaging than other automatic laser toys I've tried in this price range.

This is a good product and it does work as descibed but only getting 3 stars. After only using twice at about 30 minute increnent you have to replace the batteries. It just sucks the life out of them very quickly. Another issue is the speed and pattern of the laser really isn't that great and all of my cats lose intetest in it early on so I have to keep moving it and adjusting to keep them interested which kind of defeats the purpose of an automatic laser, in my opinion. Again this product is not terrible and will somewhat do what it is supposed to do. My cats still prefer how I make the laser move manually over the automatic speeds and patterns of this toy. Just glad the item wasn't pricey as it has been used much since christmas.

Cool toy, my cat loves when I have it on manual and play with him, but in the Automatic modes, he gets bored. Every few seconds the laser will turn off for about 5 seconds and start up again... and the cat seems to get bored at those moments and ends up just walking off after about the 4th time it shuts off temporarily Don't know that's how it's supposed to be, figured it is since manual mode doesn't do it.

Our 3 Bengal cats love this! They start running around the house, we just turn this on. They wear out! It has a 15 min timer so it goes off after a time. Well worth the money! Happy kitty Mom

It is great entertainment for my cats but they would rather have the laser go even faster. The top setting is where it is at and sometimes they just look at it and me.

My cat Pyscho... seems more interested in the old broken down laser that doesn't move around anymore since it's fallen a few times.I guess she will eventually play with it!!

Love this thing! It keeps my 4 cats entertained daily, auto shut off at 30 minutes, which is great for when I'm leaving the house.. the only thing I'm not crazy about is it only goes in a circle, but there's three different speed settings which always grab my cats attention! And you can angle it literally any way you want because of its shape.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS KNOCK OFF!
