Excellent for Weaving, But With Caveats
I'm a weaver, not a knitter. The yarn was thin, as other reviewers said, so I doubled up on both warp and weft. The finished product (baby blanket) washed well and was incredibly soft. It drapes beautifully and I really love the feel of it.This yarn was strong enough to hold up to the pressure of the warp, but 2 of the 10 skeins had been pieced together with short ends. There were multiple knots, rendering those skeins nearly useless - knotted yarn, especially a really smooth one like this, comes apart on the loom. And nothing is a bigger disaster in weaving than broken warp threads.I was able to use some of the pieced-together yarn as weft for a pillow I was making for myself; i can tolerate the slubs and bumps of the many knots. But i would never use those for an item I was giving as a gift.Even so, the finished blankets made with the intact skeins were a big hit with babies and new parents alike. I'm ordering more because I love the color, the texture and results from this yarn, and am hoping I get fewer defects.

Incredibly Soft Crocheting Yarn
I love the idea of using a bamboo rayon yarn for crocheting projects. This yarn is very soft with awesome draping effect on finished product. I can see it used nicely for a lacy shawl, baby sweater and bonnet. The yarn is definitely a fingerling yarn! No sport about it. The strand does not separate like many other very soft yarns. I’m very happy that the reviews that cite bad separating yarn is not what I found. I have had some yarn that would not stay twisted. This yarn is perfectly easy to work with. I find that I need to give some time playing with my tension when I begin working with a new weight of yarn. I prefer the soft yarns, acrylics, polyester and rayon. These yarns separate big time. My crocheting is relaxed and not tight. I have been crocheting for 40 years and I taught myself. The skeins are 270 yards and easily make lacy doilies and table runners. The color is exactly what I was looking for and seem true to the picture. I look forward to using this yarn for a variety of very special projects.

Beautiful
I love what I'm making with this yarn. I wanted a summer weight baby blanket for my nephew's newest baby due in March. I love the weight & feel of this yarn. These were the colors I wanted. It was hard to find the right shade of yellow, this was exactly what it claimed. They did not want to know what they were having this time around.Yes this is not a yarn for a person new to crochet or knitting. I was skeptical when I tried the yarn at first. But perseverance paid off. It is one of the prettier blankets I have done.

I wasn’t so sure but…
So. I bought this before reading most of the reviews. After I bought it, I started reading it and I wasn’t sure if it had been a good idea. I hate splitty yarn. I think I can’t call myself a beginner anymore but I guess I’m a low intermediate with a lot to learn. I was looki g for a sport weight yarn and I like working with those. But I got one once that all the strands were separated like this one and I was like… why? Why? I didn’t even use it. 🤷🏽♀️But I needed a lot of yarn and this one had a good price so I decided to try.Im glad I did.Yes. This yarn isn’t for a beginner. But it’s so beautiful that I’d say, if you like a challenge and like to learn TRY IT!I also recommend a good hook. The tulip ones are smooth they make working with this type of yarn much easier. They are worth every penny.Im making a dress but for now it looks like a top. If looks and feels so nice.Im not even having any issues with it splitting. (Again, a good hook is key)I can’t wait to finish this project so I can buy a different t color and make something else.

So so so soft
Its a lot thinner then I thought it would be, and it can get stringy at times. As a beginner it was a little difficult to get the hang of, however after the learning curve I am really enjoying it and while i don’t think Ill run out any time soon because there is SO MUCH (yay!) Id definitely buy it again and in more colors!

Not for beginners
This 10-Pack Yonkey Monkey Skein Tencel Yarn - 70% Bamboo, 30% Cotton feels amazing to my hand but I find it difficult to knit with such fine yarn. I'm going back to chunkier yarn until I am a stronger knitter.

Fine weight yarn
This is a beautiful shiny bamboo silk blend. The colors are vivid and the yarn is well captured in the photos posted in the store, especially the blow out of the 6-ply strands of the yarn. When I ordered the yarn, I looked at the needle gauge and somehow assumed that I was seeing the crochet hook range. So far I prefer using a 3.0 or 3.5 mm hook with this yarn, which puts it in the weight 2 category, rather than DK which is what I had originally intended to purchase. Working in a finer gauge is hardly a complaint. If you really must, it is alright with a 4.0 mm crochet hook, but the stitches have a non opaque structure regardless of stitch used. The yarn is soft yet very resistant to fray. It will untwine which is a challenge if you are a complete beginner, but it is actually a great yarn to use if you are working on your first project at a finer yarn gauge. It is not the yarn to use in your very first project. (If you are a complete beginner, I would recommend a worsted weight yarn or higher - weight 4 and doing an amigurumi project for crochet.). Otherwise, the qualities of the fiber blend (easy care, soft, bright colors), as well as the relative pricing are a lot to love. I will hug the Monkey Plush friend if I ever have the good fortune to meet one in person.

70% bamboo, 30% cotton? Doubtful.
I wouldn't have such an issue with this yarn if the description wasn't so misleading. I've worked with bamboo+cotton yarn before... this ain't it.Since I had my doubts even before ordering, when it arrived I used the simple but effective burn test and compared it to a few other yarns I have. Snipping off a small piece from each, I held them to a match for 3 seconds each and beheld the results. My 100% acrylic yarns (remember, acrylic is just plastic) curled and melted, while my 100% cotton ones, being a non-plastic fiber, burned and turned to ash as they should. I then took a 51/49 blend of cotton and (rayon; refers to manufacturing process)bamboo, which also burned as it should. Burned a piece of this Monkey yarn and it didn't turn to ash; rather, it curled up as acrylic would. Tried it a few more times just to be thorough with the same results. If you're wondering, the higher % of bamboo (70 vs 49) still shouldn't cause it to behave like plastic. An aside, some "bamboo" yarns are rayon from bamboo, where "rayon" refers to the manufacturing process, and can actually be from ANY plant fiber(cellulose)... still doesn't result in melting when burned... Nor does lyocell (another form of rayon, and lyocell is lit just tencel by another name), as far as I'm aware.I'm unsure of the actual composition of this yarn, but I suspect it's mostly (if not entirely) plastic. Again, not normally a problem... if that's what you're going for, but this was advertised as a BAMBOO+COTTON BLEND. False advertising ain't cool, chief. I'll use this for something but I won't ever buy it again. Bamboozled indeed.

Will buy again.
Easy to work with and comfy. I made this crop sweater (see picture) with just over 7 skiens.

Nice yarn for the money
I bought this in 3 shades, black, camel, & cowboy blue. The 3 colors were all true to the images I saw on my screen. It's lovely soft yarn. As mentioned by many others it is not #4 worsted weight, but more like #2 sport weight. If you double it up you'd be about a #4. As far as splittiness goes, if you have crocheted with a Scheepjes Whirl then you'd be fine using this. It's pretty much at that level of splittiness. I wouldn't recommend it for newbies, but for any fairly experienced crocheter it would be fine. It's very soft and not overly shiny. It's more of a light sheen than a real shine. I dislike shiny yarn but I'm happy with this. Yarn is pretty expensive these days and I think for post Covid this is a very good deal.

It is NOT wool
I bought this with great expectations for a blanket I'm knitting (or trying to) for my grandson...Yay... finally it came.... very quickly, took it out .......andOh no.... this is not wool, it's thread for needle point....It does not, in any way represent wool...I tried putting 2 threads together, thinking this would be do able....I tried putting 3 threads together...... noI finally put 4 together and it came close to a baby knit wool...so back it goes....don't you just hate it when the product is no where remotely close to what they tell you it is....On top of that, it splits with every stitch you try to take...I'm a very experienced knitter and it took me 45 min to cast on 20 stitches.....it splits and freys.... perfect for embroidery work....but not knitting or crocheting....

Very very soft
This is the best soft bamboo cotton, easy to work with. If you’re looking for a very soft cotton, go for it, you won’t be disappointed.
