Don't miss the #1 New York Times bestselling blockbuster and Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick that's sold more than 5 million copies โnow an Apple TV+ series starring Jennifer Garner! The "genuinely moving" ( New York Times ) and "gripping thriller" ( Entertainment Weekly ) about a woman who thinks she's found the love of her lifeโuntil he disappears. Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her . Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refersโOwen's sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother. As Hannah's increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen's boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn't who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen's true identityโand why he really disappeared. Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen's past, they soon realize they're also building a new futureโone neither of them could have anticipated. With its breakneck pacing, dizzying plot twists, and evocative family drama, The Last Thing He Told Me is a "page-turning, exhilarating, and unforgettable" ( PopSugar ) suspense novel. Review: The Last Thing He Told Me - This is a great read. Itโs suspenseful and captivating. I didnโt want to put it down. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Review: A Satisfying Mystery - This is the second book of Daveโs that Iโve read. She writes well, and the beginning immediately piqued my interest. Hannahโs married for barely a year and lives on a Sausalito houseboat with her tech-engineer husband, Owen, and his teen daughter, Bailey. Hannahโs in love, and it seems that, initially, her biggest problem is trying to win over her less-than-thrilled stepdaughter. Then, Owen abruptly disappears, and their problems quickly escalate. Owen leaves Hannah with only a cryptic message, asking that she โprotect herโ, meaning Bailey. Hannah turns to friends for help, but when rumors of fraud begin circulating at Owenโs company and looming threats of indictment begin to swirl, Hannah wonders about the extent of her husbandโs involvement. When a U.S. Marshal and two FBI agents begin asking questions, Hannah realizes that she needs to investigate and find answers on her own. Hannah and Bailey grab a flight to Austin, TX based on a series of obscure clues from Owenโs past. They follow slim leads based on flashes of Baileyโs childhood memories, searching for Owen and why he left. Secrets quickly multiply and the mystery of Owenโs complicated life begins to emerge. The story is engaging, and the Austin trip propels the story in an unexpected, improbable direction. For me, it wasnโt edge-of-your-seat action, but it did have steady momentum and compelling drama. A few well-placed surprises and interesting, inventive twists kept the pages easily turning. Ultimately, the book centers around the things that we do for love, what we are willing to sacrifice and what we can forgive. At itโs heart, itโs a family story about how we live out the choices that we make. A good, solid read that was worth the time invested.

The Last Thing He Told Me - Review (3 stars)
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ The Last Thing He Told Me - Review I was completely invested when I first started this book, but somewhere along the way it lost a little momentum for me. I kept expecting something shocking to happen, and while the mystery kept me reading, it never quite reached the level of suspense I was hoping for. Once I got a little past the 50% mark, I found myself wanting the story to move faster and get more to the point. At around 300 pages, it wasnโt overly long, but parts of it felt slower than I expected. I would classify this as more of a mystery than a thriller. The strongest part of the book for me was the relationship development. I really enjoyed watching that growth unfold throughout the story, and I especially appreciated the final line of the book. While I wasnโt a fan of how the ending played out and wish it had gone in a different direction, I did like that there werenโt a bunch of lingering unanswered questions by the end. Overall, this was a solid read, but it didnโt fully live up to the suspense and thrills I was expecting.

Good Mystery!
3.75 stars. We have a husband that leaves a mysterious note for his wife and daughter and then disappears, so the girls are left trying to figure out what happened. It kept me engaged the entire time and was an easy read!

Great mystery!
It took off really fast and just kept going and going. I didn't anticipate hardly anything. The further I got into the book, the harder it was to put it down. I also like that the heroine was smart and kept her head under a lot of pressure. The ending wasn't perfect, but who's life is?

A fabulous book to read
Owen Michael who has a beautiful teenage daughter 'Bailey' from his first marriage marries Hannah Hall. A little over an year after marriage he disappears into oblivion with a last two word note "Protect Her" to Hannah and which forms the focal point of the book "The Last Thing He Told Me".The suspense of the story goes through many a twists and turns & the curiosity never seems to be ending until the last page of the book. It's not just the suspense that holds but the feelings & emotions that comes out of the characters are very much intresting.A father's love for his daughter, a grandfather's love for his granddaughter and above all a mother's love for her daughter stands tall in the story (Hannah's love for Bailey)& it is this love & trust that Owen sees in Hannah & the same comes out through her with out even her knowing as how deep & far Owen has thought under the circumstantial events he anticipated & imagined.A book to read and reread for the suspense and for the Values it holds. A fabulous book to read and enjoy.Loved reading all through.

Good read with twist
I enjoyed this book but was not sure what to expect. Reading the blurb and reviews I really had no idea what type of book this would be. It kept me interested but I think it wasn't what I had in mind. It was a good book and worth a read just don't go in with any expectations and you'll enjoy.

Unputdownable!
The Last Thing He Told Me by @lauradaveauthor completely consumed me! When Owen Michaels disappears, he leaves behind just two words on a note to his wife: Protect her. What follows is a gripping search for the truth, as his wife tries to uncover where heโs gone and who he really was. This story unfolds with real urgency; I genuinely could not put it down and found myself racing through the pages desperate to know what would happen next. The characters are compelling, the emotional stakes feel real, and the twists keep coming without ever feeling forced. A brilliantly paced, addictive read with heart at its core. One of those books you will think about long after youโve finished and the sequel is on its way and I can not wait!!
