WM Bartleet & Sons 1750 T184 Butter/Terrine Dish With Lid, White

The product is lovely and exactly what I wanted, it is the perfect size for half a block of butter, the delivery however was very disappointing, promised next day on a Friday, let down by Amazon and rescheduled for Saturday, let down agin, finally arrived on the Sunday !!!!!!

I bought the 13.5 x 9 x 11cm one. Measurements seem a bit exaggerated to me. If they were the measurements given, a standard pack of butter would fit in no problem, but you have to just push the butter down to persuade it into the last bit(the dimensions narrow lower down you see). Not a huge deal but definitely worth mentioning. If I was the seller I would give potential customers the dimensions of the narrowest length and width so there can be no mistake. Or why not both the narrowest and widest? Knowledge is power. Otherwise it's a nice little butter dish - microwave proof apparently though I've not tested this. Looks fine. Washes OK. Feels like the lid might break if I gave it a good knock but I guess that's always a risk with such a material. The only other thing I would warn people about is the handle - it's fine for me, but if you have arthritic hands you might want something more substantial or with a hole in.

Not easy to find containers big enough to hold supermarket spread tubs - this one (large) holds a 500g Benecol tub easily. The dish lid sits on the rim of the tub so I used the kitchen scissors to trim the top of the tub and the lid now sits squarely on the dish. Took about 10 seconds to fix. Looks good on the table instead of the commercial packaging on view. It is heavy and quite large so needs a two handed lift out of the fridge. The knob on the lid is quite small so buttery fingers beware. I have managed to smash three dish lids on the kitchen floor and as Lakeland had discontinued their dishes I was getting desperate until I fiound this one. Good old Amazon - item ordered on Saturday delivered on Sunday

Bought the 11x8 size initially, but had to return it because it was substandard (lid was very poor fit with gaps around the edges, handle on lid was not stuck on square, several marks in the porcelain. 2nd time round, went for the larger size (13.5 x 11). Lid fits a bit better but not a snug fit at all. Also there are marks in the porcelain. Can't be bothered to send a second one back, and it's just about acceptable. A far as size is concerned, the small one (11x8) comfortably takes one third of a standard 250g block of butter. The 13.5 x 11 takes a 250g block of butter (at a squeeze) but will be better for 1/2 to 2/3rds of a 250g block. The supplier needs to be more honest about the product. They feel like seconds, and if advertised as such I would accept the butter dishes without a quibble (particularly the 13.5 x11 @ £9.99).

This is a great dish for a 250g block of butter - it fits snugly in the 13.5x11x9 cm dish (although it does need a gentle push to get it in). I much prefer this style dish over the the 'tray and lid' style which tend to end up with butter all around the lid unless you put the lid on very carefully. No mess with this one and if the weather does warm up the butter doesn't run out either! It doesn't take up much space in the cupboard if you want to keep your butter soft and spreadable and it's stylish enough to put on the table if you want to. Easy to clean and can go in the dishwasher too. A good choice.

I agree with earlier reviews. The lid seems to have been made for a different dish. Very odd. I wanted it for a 500 g tub of butter and it is too shallow to fit without cutting the plastic tub. However, it is too bit for a the 250 g size. I am keeping it until i find a better product. To get over the lid problem i have resorted to putting cling film under the lid.

Lovely dish but it was tiny. Would not fit even half a pack of butter! I have had to order the largest one now as was not convinced that the next size up would be big enough either.

I'm delighted with this butter dish. It easily holds 2 oz of butter, possibly 3 oz. It's lid fits neatly into the base so that you can lift off the lid without it being covered in butter. It has a fine finish and feels good to use. I bought it because every time I filled my standard sized butter dish with 4 oz butter other people in the house seemed to empty it in a flash. I hope that this smaller sized dish will encourage self restraint on butter use.

Eine süße Butterdose. Nur leider viel zu klein. Selbst eine halbe Portion Butter paß nicht rein. Die nächste Größe war mir aber zu teuer für eine Butterdose.

This is really pretty and well made but very tiny only holds 1/4 cup of butter. Way to small for Me but cute for dinner table

It is a wonderful dish I love it, very good quality. If I could change it I would have it a little bigger. It doesn't quit fit a pound of butter.
