Q: Do I need a subwoofer with these?

Yes, these are great speakers for mids and highs, but deffinatey recommend a separate subwoofer.

Q: What diameter pole fits in its socket? Seeing options for both 1.5" and 1-3/8" while searching for poles, not sure which to get. Thanks.
