Best gray hair coverage EVER!!!

This hair dye has beautiful color and it covered most grays, not 100%, but better coverage than drugstore brands. It didn't smell too "chemically" and didn't feel as damaging to my hair as some dyes. My hair felt better and soft after rinsing and before I even put in any conditioner.It's nice they offer customizable items to dye your hair, but it's not a complete kit which many people will need (they do offer full kit and other items on Amazon). You still need a developer, applicator, and gloves. I also prefer to use the deep conditioner that usually comes with kits. If buying your own developer, a 20 Volume developer (lift 1-2 colors) will be safe to use for most.This is a good option for advanced hair dye users who are comfortable mixing their own hair dye and have applicators. Otherwise, I'd start with a full kit. The color is beautiful and nice quality hair dye.

I’ve had this gray streak in my hair since I was in college. It runs down my part and has been a source of annoyance for me. Even though I’m in my 40s, I don’t really have any other noticeable grays. I’ve gotten hair dye boxes from the store before to cover my one streak, but it always felt like a waste of money since I was always throwing a bunch of it away after I did my streak.When I first got this hair color, I was a little disappointed that it still had to be mixed with developer. That meant I had to actually get developer. But, in the end, this works out so much better for me with my streak!! Since I really only need a little bit at a time, I can use that little bit of dye, that little bit of developer, and do my gray streak without having to waste the rest of the dye!! Now I have enough to do my streak multiple times without having to purchase new dye over and over. In terms of the dye itself, the color is great - deep and rich and perfect for my hair color.

Other reviews had me concerned over the color I would actually recieve. I got the color I ordered. I am pleased. This is just color and not a 2 pack of color and conditioner, as I somehow erroneously thought. Maybe the way the stock photo shows the box next to the tube made me think it was a set of two products, as most hair color comes with a rich conditioner, as well. This is just a tube of color. I am looking forward to trying this, as I have never had color ready mixed and made for me in a tube before. It's taken me awhile to get around to finding the time to apply this myself. I will update when I do finally get to do it, as my other color is fading. I really like the ingredient list on this product and I like the promised ease of application. More to come...

I had to go to Sally to buy some developer when I realized that I had only ordered the color and it didn't come with a developer. Looking at the ordering page, it looks like each color has an option to order just the color, the color + developer, and a complete color kit. Make sure you choose correctly among the options based on what you need. I've colored my hair enough to know that I needed more than just the color, but not everyone may be aware of this. I did like how the color came out - pretty even all over and covered grays pretty well too.

From reading the listing and looking at the photos I did think this was a complete hair color kit, but it is not. It is a tube of dye only and you need twenty volume developer to mix with it before applying it to your hair. The instructions say to use two fluid ounces of developer and mix it with the tube of hair dye or use a one to one mixing ratio. I like that you can use less if you just need to do a root touch up. You could also bring it with you to your hair salon and have them apply it for you if you don’t want to buy the developer. The dye is made using natural vegan ingredients that are good for the hair, so I feel better using this dye over the drug store brands.

The smell was so strong that it made me a little sick. I shampooed thoroughly after dyeing, but the smell was still there the next day. I think the commercial product takes about 10 minutes to dye, but I had to leave it on for more than 30 minutes for this product, which was difficult because of the strong smell.This product does not dye hair by itself, it requires developer. Please note that this product does not dye your hair by itself.

The smell is similar to other hair dyes, but not as strong and caused no burning sensation in the nose or eyes. The experience was comfortable with no tingling or strange feeling. I didn’t see any staining on my skin. I used the dark brown which was slightly darker than I was expecting, but the color is very attractive. When rinsing, the dye washed out of my hair thoroughly and quickly, with very little excess color in the water. After finishing, my hair felt smooth. The color and developer come in resealable bottles, which makes it convenient to use only the amount you want with no waste, for example touching up roots. If this is your first time buying, make sure to order both bottles. I had an excellent experience with customer service when I had a question. Thumbs up!
