Veise RZ07 Fingerprint Smart Door Lock Deadbolt, App Control, Satin Nickel

I bought this lock after my 5 year old Kwikset lock stopped working. I wanted a lock that had the fingerprint feature and at a reasonable price so I chose this one. It was easy to install and program but I was unable to set the unlock code successfully so I called the phone number for their tech line, after about 30 seconds on hold Aaron came on the line and walked me through the procedure. I am a senior citizen and I am not real proficient in todays technology so I really appreciate Aaron's patience with me, he was easy to understand and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend this lock.

Less than a week in but it works great! The finger print works 98.9%. If it doesn’t, it’s likely just the position of your finger. Not hard to set up at all. Love the app and the key fob reader. You can unlock door from the app. Auto lock is great!

Aside from the product’s quality, ease of use and functionality; great customer service is always appreciated. After installing the Veise lock, which was fairly simple to do, I needed to contact the company for assistance in programming the lock. Aaron was the customer service representative that I spoke with and he was an absolute delight. Aaron was professional, listened to my inquiry, understood my concerns and was able to walk me through the necessary steps to complete the task at hand. He was patient and kind and we even chuckled during the call. Thank you Aaron for a positive interaction!!

I purchased this to change the locks on our new home after closing, and installed it on June 30th. The installation was super simple - the instructions were clear, the included template was very helpful, and there were also video guides available as well if needed (although I didn't need to use them). While the container/shell is made from a hard plastic, all of the moving parts and mechanisms are made of metal and are solid and durable. The lock feels extremely secure and reliable. The companion app that comes along with the lock is very well made, and while there are some weird translation issues (which is normal for products like these), everything works exactly as expected with no hiccups or bugs. There are TONS of features available - the lock is super customizable and everything can be managed from the app easily. New admins can be added very easily as well. In particular, I like that I can generate a new code on the door and set it to expire whenever, thus eliminating the need for hidden keys or anything like that. Whenever a handyman or friend/family member need to come by and we aren't here, I can just make them a new code and set it to expire the next day and never have to worry about them getting back into the front door again. I also really like that there's an auto-lock option - it's a great way to have peace of mind that the front door is always locked. You can set it to 5/10/15/30 seconds, or choose "custom" and set it to whatever timeframe you want (in seconds). For us, we have a 10 minute auto-lock set, which means that even if we forget after going in and out over and over again (moving and whatnot), we know that the door will always be locked after ten minutes. The fingerprint setup is a breeze, the RFID reader works reliably, everything is great - if I had to point out any one con, it would be with the keypad screen - it's kind of a pain to reliably wake up sometimes, and lags a bit when coming on. But that's the only real downside we have been able to find with it. Other than that, this lock is awesome, feature rich, reliable and well built. Worth the money. PS: Also, Veise's customer service is awesome. When I first got the lock, I realized that I only got 1 RFID scanner instead of 2, and after reaching out to them, they explained that other RFID cards can be used with the lock, and then refunded me back 30% of the total cost to cover the cost of purchasing new ones separately. All of this happened within 12 hours of me reaching out the first time. Nice job, Veise! :) == 2 YEARS LATER: UPDATE == Over time, this lock has been OK, but it freaks out randomly every day at a random time, tries to lock/unlock the door repeatedly, and eventually beeps a bunch of times before going back to a locked state. We took this as just being kind of a quirk or whatever, but today, it freaked out continuously for about 30 minutes before it died. I replaced the batteries with new ones just in case, but no luck - more of the same behavior. The app still sees the lock there, the keypad still works fine, but the motor seems to be completely dead. I can't remove the lock from the app either, the reset button doesn't work, etc - the only way in and out now is with a physical key. I've emailed Veise customer support again for help with this, and am hoping for the same great support as I had early on - but only time will tell. I've knocked 2 stars off of this review for now because of the device malfunction, but will return them if/when I hear back from Veise's support

This has been a fantastic edition to our home. Security system. The product is sleek, clean and provides an easier way for our guests to access our home without us needing to leave a key under a rock. We are super happy with our purchase. Our only complaint is the app, sometimes it has limited functionality, and the keypad doesn't always register our Fingerprints, but otherwise, it's a great product and would recommend to anybody who's looking for a cheaper alternative to a high and smart door locking system.

The prior lock was name-brand and expensive, which started having random issues 6 months after purchase, and after a year it failed completely. Plus, it ate a lot of 9v batteries. This lock looked like the best replacement and had a large sale discount of 40% plus a $30 coupon, so we bought two on the same order. We did pay for the locks; we did not get it as a free item to review. It was exactly as it said, and the replacement was reasonably easy. But it did take me 3 hours due to the prior lock having been installed very poorly (a lot of damage to the door and frame), so I repaired that as best possible. Also, the inside and outside locks have a rubber insulator that comes off easily (and back on), which can be used as a guide to predrilling the holes. That's what I did, and it made it easy to be accurate. This lock works butter smooth and it has so many options for opening it. If you have multiple locks then you can set up the first one and there is an option to transfer the settings (the people with access) to the second lock through the app. The app uses Bluetooth, but they push the wifi option fairly heavily. We thought we had to buy the wifi to get phone connectivity, but decided to see if we needed the wifi box. if you are within about 6 feet of the door the Bluetooth option works fine. The app itself is ok, lots of setup options. But when there is an error (I tried to change the temporary code of a new person) and it fails with a simple "Failed" message. I tried again and then it failed with a more helpful message saying that I had to use the code once before changing it. Why can't it say that on the app at the time? There is little help nor description on the app itself about what an option does, and that is mostly fine but could be more helpful. What we liked most in the app was that the battery state is displayed, so no more guessing (the previous locks would work, until they didn't). The worst part of the lock is that the pictures on Amazon show a clear keypad, but it is covered in a darkly tinted glass. It looks nice, but we live in Texas and it is bright and sunny. We have a hard time seeing if the keypad is on, let alone the digits. Two of the people who posted videos showed that, but it is worse for us in the sun. The app issues are fairly minor since we mostly use the key-tags to open the doors. Overall, we are delighted and feel like we have great value compared to the name-brand locks we had.

Purchased three years ago has gone through three very hot summers and a couple of freezing winters and have had no problem or damage. I love the flexibility and the backups and the ability to administer the lock through your iPhone. Very easy to set up and manage codes and passwords for multiple people. It comes with two fobs. I need to mention that I do have a solid glass outer door, which provides protection from rain.

Overall, I'm pleased with the product after I've had time to get used to it and finally got it working with the app. Installation was a little challenging but only because I had to bore out the hole a little more to accept the latch. I had seen other products from better-known manufacturers (Yale, etc) but they a little more pricey and sometimes required "extra" products to get functions like auto-lock to work. I liked that this product had the features I wanted without buying anything else. I even trust the lock enough to leave the house without the physical key or a pass card on me! I could use the code but I usually use my fingerprint to unlock the door. Sometimes I will take the key with me just in case - I think once I had so many failed fingerprint scans that it would not accept anything *except* the physical key (at least for some period of time). I think the app does need work. I often have to try an app operation two or three times before it can talk to the lock even though I'm standing inches away from it. It was all very frustrating to get it the app initially functioning with the lock and I had to call support and have them walk me though some steps. Thankfully, support was great and I don't think I was on the phone with them for more then 15 minutes. The battery indicator in the app is pretty much a joke. The lock has been installed for 6 months and the app still shows 100% battery strength with a timestamp of when I installed it (or close enough). I contacted support about it and they basically said it was working as designed. They did offer that the batteries are expected to last about a year but I was hoping for a warm-fuzzy feeling. The fingerprint scanner is a little flakey. I'm used to using my fingerprint to unlock my phone and a Fire tablet but the lock scanner is much more picky. I have to be very deliberate and take my time using the scanner. I'm kind of training myself to do that now. Perhaps I'm asking too much but I think a flaw is if you have auto-lock turned on and the door is ajar (short timeout and you don't close the door right away), the latch will extend to the locked position. Then you have to return the latch to open (unlock it) so you can close the door! I figured since I installed the product's own striker plate it would be able to sense situations like that. I think it should be able to tell when the door is closed and can lock. It shouldn't bother if the door is ajar.
