LightHouse 305mm 45W Eco Heat Greenhouse Heater,Green,black

I bought the 45 watt model at the end of November for use in a small tent type cold frame. After reading the reviews I was really undecided because of the horrors reported by previous buyers. I was not sure what size to buy until I spoke to one of the garden centers advertising the product. I was told that the 45 watt model was man enough for a tent of 0.8 cubic meters capacity. My tent is 0.5 cubic meters so decision made.First impressions after delivery was that it was a good pice of kit. From appearances anyway. I plugged in and stood back wondering what to expect! There was some smoke from one end but this disappeared after a couple of minutes. Because the end caps of the heater tube are a push fit I reckon that a grease is used to make assembly easier and the smoke was the grease evaporating. Just my opinion!Also another fault reported that the screws holding the feet are too short. When I dropped the screws into the holes I thought the same but turned them home and they tightened up perfectly.I am using the heater on a timer and it is working faultlessly. Today the outside temperature registered 0 degrees but inside my tent it was 6.3 degrees. I have cuttings from the summer and potted on seedlings thriving and am pleased so far. Still anxious about when the temps drop to -5 or -6 degrees. As I say so far so good and I am pleased with my purchase.

Heats up well

I would like to have had a thermostat built in to activate the heater as as temperature approached freezing.

Very happy does the job in the shed

We brought this to offer frost protection in our campervan when not in use, but it turned out to be somewhat underpowered for the size of the van, so we have ordered one of the larger, more powerful versions, and will be returning this one. It's actually ideal, but we underestimated the power needed. When it armies we will be using the larger one with a plug-in thermostat

Very cheap to run and keeps my greenhouse warm

Bought this for my shed to make sure it stays above freezing. Does its job combined with a WiFi thermometer I bought separately. When on it gets hot (you cant hold your hand to it) but its size means the heating is imperceptible. It works in my 8x6 ft shed and raises temps by 1-2 degrees compared to when its off

The media could not be loaded. The product heats up well however, it produced smoke at one end which is quite concerning and makes it feel rather unsafe.I purchased a second one and installed it. It is to be placed in a greenhouse 6X8 as per instructions it should be sufficient. Last night we dipped to 0C and it did not manage to keep the temperature above 1 C, although it was on.

This operates on 220V, which is NOT mentioned anywhere in the description. If you are in the US, unless you have a spare Oven / dryer plug, this thing is useless.

Used in a very small greenhouse for raiding seedlings. It struggles a bit but just tempers the overnight conditions s little.
