others are excellent.
Except the gap is a little narrow, others are excellent.

Ebony Cello Mute
Although the material of the mute is of high quality, the crevasse of the mute is not enough opened according to the thick of the bridge. I needed to take it to a luthier in order to give the correct size of the crevasse.

More of a violin mute.
The mute fits the violin more than the cello. The clearance is not even big enough to fit the bridge. Wrote the supplier an email but got no response.

Person below doesn't know how to put on an ebony mute
The person who gave the bad review was simply trying to force the mute all the way onto the bridge. It is meant to simply be wedged onto the very edge of it, and no further. Yes, the wood will crack if you try to wedge it on all the way into the slits. But don't do that. This kind of mute is meant for orchestral purposes. However, they can be a little less convenient than the small rubber kind which stay on the tailpiece. These must be kept on the music stand and can be a little harder to put on during quick changes to and from muted sections. It's really a matter of taste, though.

Decorative but that's all
After my daughter returned from music camp, she said she needed a mute for her cello. I read up on them and it was suggested to try several types. This was one of the mutes we tried. This mute did not fit on the bridge. She was afraid that if she forced it, it would break her bridge. It is not flexible because it is made of wood. It is a very pretty but other than looks we find it to be worthless.
