I almost returned this pen when I first used it. So why the 5 stars? It had a very, very bad rattle, which others have reported. I knew that going in, but the history and design of the Rotring 600 meant I gave in and bought one after many years of looking at them. The rattle nearly sent this right back to the sender. I mean it was loud and noticeable. But, I tried one thing first and it turned this pen into one of the best ballpoint pens I own, even displacing the formidable Uni Jetstream 0.7mm I often carried for a daily use pen. I placed one strip of regular scotch type tape on the metal refill cartridge. I put the tape from the plastic top section down to the beginning of the neck where the spring meets it. On the entirety of the refill’s body if you will. It nearly eliminated the rattle without affecting the pen’s function. There is an ever so slight rattle remaining that comes from the knock, which has a little play when the cartridge is deployed, but that rattle is very minimal and I often have to consciously focus on it to realize it’s there. Most of the time I don’t notice it at all. I use Parker Quinkflow refills and overall have been very pleased. In short, I highly recommend this pen. Expect a rattle. If the rattle gets at you, the simple tape fix I described above should get you back on track. I went from nearly returning this pen to being very tempted to buy another in a different color. The gold color is excellent. It’s more of a bronze or antique gold to me, which is good IMHO. There’s a slight shine to it in the right light but overall it’s a professional color that looks good without being too ostentatious. It looks good without being gaudy like a shiny Cross type gold pen.

This pen is fantastic i bought the gold colored one. i wanted a pen that didnt have rubber or anything that can catch on my tight lochby journal pen slot. i didnt expect anything great, i just got it cause as a amaeture artist and game designer for the last 13 years i used rotrings 300 series pencils, i also am outdoors a lot, i hike, bike, shoot, fish garden ect. i wanted it to be tough full size and reliable, to top it off im a part time home care aide. so despite the bad reviews its received i got it anyway cause it fit a niche i needed. let me also state im a huge fountain pen guy. i hate ballpoints i always have problems with them and they are never as smooth as a fountain pen or a nicer rollerball. this pen changed my mind. One of the top complaints for this pen is the pen nib or tip has play in it or rattles, my pen doesent really have a rattle but there is a tiny amount of play when you write, i dont notice it. but maybe im not that OCD about a down and dirty work pen i use for abuse. its got a nice heft, its a little top heavy but the balance is right in the middle of the pen the knurling is perfect its not super aggressive it feels good and has a good solid grip one complaint i did have initially was it didnt work very well to write with the OEM Refill but i cleand it off and wiped it with alchohol and its been extreamly smooth and reliable since. i have written with this extensivly for taking notes and writing down logbooks of information aswell as sketches and documents, it always performs, i dont even carry a second pen anymore, this will never replace my fountain pens for at home desk use but i could definitly use this perfectly fine if it was all i had and i've done just that. if you want a premium feel with perfect balance and your a person of finely crafted hand made products this aint it but this is a really great workhorse design and its put up with a lot of abuse in a short amount of time. its like one of those plain clear bic pens without the chance of breaking from unforseen events. Highly recommend it if your in a similar situation. just be sure to clean up that ball with alchohol before use.

I absolutely love this pen! It writes really smooth. The gold barrel gives it a sleek, professional look. Definitely worth it for anyone like me, who appreciates a smooth, consistent writing experience with a touch of luxury.

I love this pen. I got the gold color (probably because it was $1 cheaper) and I'm not a person that typically like gold anything but I find this subtle and very nice. The pen feels nice in the hand and the ink flows freely.

The pencil is great I liked it so much I thought I’d get the pen also. Pen showed up with an ink cartridge that doesn’t work. It overall mediocre There are better luxury pens available. The pencil however is the best I’ve used and seen.

This pen is excellent. I wish Rotring made a smaller EDC style version. As is I carry this one every day.

Excellent pen. Great weight. Knurling on grip is just right. Feels rugged. Clip slides onto fabric easily. Clip is just what you'd hope for. It's worry free; quality as high as needed and doesn't break the bank.

I have been wanting this pen for long and finally got one for myself !!! The seller was an excellent one, very receptive and communicated very well.. The pen is a dream. while it writes a little thick for my liking, I love the ink flow. The refill perhaps needs to be changed as I saw a couple of ink blots, but loved the way this can sketch / shade while doodling. If you love brass pens, this one should definitely be in your collection !!!!
