I recently purchased the FloTool Hopkins 10704 Measu-Funnel with On/Off Spout, and it has proven to be an incredibly useful tool in my garage. I grabbed this for my dorm kitchen because transfer days are chaos. I use it most for pouring giant jugs of olive oil into the tiny bottles I thrift and for refilling my cold brew jars. The little screen is such a win. It catches coffee grounds and random crumbs so my drinks stay clean. I just pop it under the sink and rinse and it looks good again. The clear side with measurements helps when I’m splitting detergent with my roommate. I only wish the top held a bit more, but for smaller stuff it works well and I’m glad I brought it to campus.

perfect for 2014 honda civic transmission fluid fill it’s great quality, the tube is pretty flexible which is good for in my case the awkward angle of the fill plug location on the transmission! it did not leak while filling with fluid and the larger size of the funnel itself made it easy to dump a whole quart of fluid in with out any spilling, the tube on the funnel was the perfect size for what i did personally but depending on your fill plug location/what you’re using it for you may need to upgrade the tube for something a little longer

The features work as they should. I really liked the graduations, especially since there is a valve to stop the flow. The cover came in handy as well. It was windy when I was filling my transmission, so I actually put it on to keep leave from flying into my fresh fluid. It lost a star because the tubing tended to kink which is annoying. The last thing you want is a flow restriction in a funnel. Also, for me the bottom plug/nozzle was useless. It prevented me from inserting the hose fully into my transmission fill port. The cap is tether to it, so the farthest you can shove the hose is to where the cap "bottoms" at the port entrance. The stupid thing actually channeled fluid along the cap retainer strap out of my transmission back out into the drip pan. After the first quart, I took it off completely. Beside, if you're going to stop filling, you would use the upper valve anyway. Others might not have this problem, but on my car, where there was an open spot to place the bell of the funnel, the hose needed to go further into my transmission. The hose was too long, maybe, but, why would I cut the length of the tubing? Any, for the money, it's excellent. But a slightly stiffer hose and a better bottom plug that you can slide up the hose without a nozzle would make this thing much better. You can work around the flaws, but the upper valve is really nice. It allows you to find a place rest the bell filled (the added weight stabilizes it), then you can make adjustments at the fill port before going back to the bell valve to release the fluid. Then when the case is full, shut off the valve and dump the fluid in those into the drip pan. Anything left in the bell can be easily dumped back back into the quart bottle.

I used this tool to replace the transmission fluid in my 2006 Acura TL. The fill bolt in this car is on the top of the transmission, which sit about a foot beneath the airbox under the hood of the car. This tool reached down to fit into the fill hole perfectly. Another nice feature is that the hose is rigid enough that it will sit up on its own without you having to hold it continually with one hand. So when you put some fluid in, then go to check the fluid level underneath the car, the tool will sit upright and not leak fluid all over the place. Another great feature of this fill tool is that it has a cap for both ends. This is SO nice. I have a number of funnels and fill tools in my garage and one thing that makes them messy is they leak after you're done with them. Fluid drips from both end of the device and gets everywhere. With this tool you can cap off both ends once you're finished so there are no leaks. Although I didn't use it, the measuring and cutoff feature is quite nice. If you know that your car holds 2.3 quarts of fluid you can put two full quarts in there, turn the flow off, measure 0.3 quarts of fluid in the reservoir, then turn the flow back on. That way you know exactly how much fluid you put in your car. This tool was far superior to thank of a regular long-neck funnel for a transmission fluid change. I'm glad I picked one up.

I was racking my brain, trying to come up with a way to rig up some sort of measuring/dispensing mechanism when changing the oil in the small engines on various equipment I own. This funnel is *exactly* the solution I was looking for, and is very affordable. Kudos to Hopkins for making a product that is so simple yet such an elegant solution to my needs! It has a capacity of 1 quart, so for my lawn tractor I'll have to measure twice. But that's a trifling nuisance and certainly not enough to take away a star, as I knew what I was getting when I bought it. I made a small chart of the oil capacities for my push mower, snow blower, generator, and lawn tractor, so now I can get exactly the right amount of oil into each one without having to guess, check the dipstick, add more oil, and repeat ad infinitum, as I used to have to do. Pros o Measurement scales in 4 ounce, 100 ml, and 1/2 pint graduations up to the 1 quart capacity o On/Off spout lets you precisely control the dispensing o Removable clear plastic extension tube, with cap to keep any residual oil from leaking out when stored o Plastic lid for the top to keep dirt and dust out when stored o Sure handling thanks to the molded on plastic handle Cons o None I use Shell Rotella T6 SAE 5W-40 synthetic oil, which I buy in 1 gallon containers to keep on hand. When I dispensed it into the snow blower's crankcase through the dipstick/fill tube, it flowed slowly enough that it didn't cause any overflow problem as has happened in the past when I was pouring too quickly from a measuring cup. I cannot think of a single thing that could be done to improve this product in any way, Hopkins has thought of every detail and I could not be more pleased.

This funnel is excellent for changing the oil in the lawn mower. It fits perfect and lets me start and stop the flow as I need to fill the reservoir.

I expected the funnel to be a little bigger. However, it worked great and didn’t spill a drop of oil. Measurements are easy to read on the side. Only thing is it is slow flowing. I need to remove the screen at the bottom of the funnel to make it faster. The valve worked flawlessly. After I used it I cleaned it up with one brake cleaner. Overall I’m very happy with my new funnel! I would recommend it especially if you have a tight area to get the oil into.
