Michelle Stiles in her most interesting and informative book, 'One Idea to Rule Them All', has shown readers that 'Idea Bullying' can and will enter our lives by other means than just through lies and distortions. Meticulously researched Stiles takes us back to the early 1900's and leads us to the present showing us that the menace of propaganda is with us every step of the way. Ms. Stiles as an enjoyable writing style and engages the reader easily. Her chapter on "Propaganda Detective is pure joy. Compulsively readable....highly recommended.

Great book!

First, let me say that the author sadly illuminates the fact that people are ignorant. The she displays her own ignorance by calling "Encyclopaedia Britannica", "Encyclopedia Britannica". See the difference? The first is the proper name of the product; the second is the name used by people to lazy or ignorant to get it right. She lost a star for lack of credibility.However, except for a couple of minor misspellings or typos, the ideas are rich in connection and proof. The book is a credible explanation of much of what is wrong with our efforts to solve relevant problems in a sensible way: If issues and consent are being manufactured to order, and if the populace is being deprived of the necessary tools and information by which to evaluate its surroundings, then it is no mystery that the issues are not being solved.Simply labeling something a "conspiracy theory" does not mean that the conspiracy does not exist.

This is an amazing book. If you feel the disquiet of “something” being wrong and you can’t explain how you are seeing what is happening in our country, happening, this book will explain it. If you see the world going crazy, believing in a false reality of the emperor’s new clothes, this book explains it. If you are dismayed by the tyranny that is happening right before your eyes, you need to read this book. Not only will it explain how propaganda is convincing the unthinking crowd that “they” have our best interests at heart, but it will show exactly how “they” are doing so, and it will show you, that, in knowing the TRUTH, we can all begin to fight back against the lies. Maybe, just maybe, we can wake up others before it is too late and there is no one left who knows what “truth” even means anymore. I cannot recommend this book enough. A quick and absorbing read!

Outstanding book. The author's overview, models, and methodology for seeing propaganda around us today is fantastic. It is a breath of fresh air, or more specifically, TRUTH. This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. That it is written by someone like the rest of us "with an active mind in the quest for truth" (her words) and not a professional educator or PhD from the slanted halls of upper education makes it all the more compelling. This is the product of excellent research and insight, and the willingness to put her thoughts into words for others to sharpen our mental tools in order to spot the deception that it so much around us. If only this was read by all citizens.

this book was a little expensive but I didn't find it used. It was delivered promptly. It's about how propaganda is used to control us , from buying habits to politics. Most of the info is free on the net if you search for it but this book puts it all together very succinctly , orderly and easy to read. Highly recommended !

This magnificently written and very readable book provides a tour of history over roughly the last century, and the forces that shaped it, the not so obvious forces that is. To understand what's going on now, this work offers a most valuable set of tools, in the form of questions to ask, patterns to look for, what's the ostensible intent and cui bono? If nothing else, reading it will make your mind more agile and observant. I highly recommend it, am about to send copies of it to numerous friends & rellies.
