Wow! I love this charcoal 💜 I consider myself a bit of a charcoal artist and thought I would try this brand of charcoal out following a YouTube video (I have previously used other charcoals which were much greyer in tone) but I am impressed with the quality of this Lyra brand - it’s a lovely shade of black, and lays down beautifully. It is also a well thought out art kit. I can’t wait to see how this picture turns out!

Good quality and value

I'm fairly happy with the overall quality, but the one pencil split on sharpening, only to find that it was broken all the way through, so that's 30% of my requirement wasted...

So disappointing. I ordered these "better quality" (read: more expensive) charcoal pencils after the very cheap ones I had were full of broken leads. Well, these were even worse. The first time I tried to use them, I spent 90% of my time sharpening and unsticking broken leads wedged in my sharpener - and about 10% of my time actually drawing with them. And this was using a top quality artists' sharpener, not the one that came with the kit. On first use the 2 charcoal pencils I used were down to about a third of their size - and sharpen any more and your pencil is going to be too short to work with anyway. Do not buy these. Unless you enjoy sharpening expensive pencils away to nothing with nothing to show for it.

Be aware bought this as charcoal set but does contain graphite and charcoal it only comes with with three charcoal pencils 1 charcoal 2 charcoal blocks the other is is graphite and to graphite pencils bit disappointed and pencils are not as dark as other brands charcoal

Absolutely pathetic, not one sharpens without breaking, completely and utterly fuming.
