Fantastic
This is fantastic. I use it for school. Heat up some soup in microwave and it stays hot the whole school day. It works for all hot foods. Curry, soup, lentils, hot chocolate, tea... anything. It works cold too! Ice cream, milkshake, ice water, smoothie... anything too. It has plenty of room for anything. It doesnt leak. It doesnt smell. It is easy to clean. It doesnt stain. It is as advertised. (I added a pencil sharpener for scale in my photos). This is such a great buy.

Brilliant flask, with 6 months of use I find it difficult to believe the bad reviews
I decided to trust the majority of reviewers comments and with over 6 months use I cannot be more pleased. After reading some negative reviews I decided to test it properly so after the initial pre warm as you should do with all flasks I filled it with boiling water 98'c, eight hours later I opened the flask and tested 74'c I the left the same water in for another 12 hours and 52'c. I use this for out on the road and prepare food at 0430 and eat around midday and it is still literally steaming hot. Ideal for stews and soups but you have to let it cool or use a bowl. Pasta and rice dishes cool a bit quicker unless you have a lot of sauce and needs experimenting as you need to undercook the rice or pasta and make the sauce watery to allow for it to continue cooking and absorb the water while in the flask, if not the meal can become stodgy or dry.. Once you get the cooking right it is a welcome change from sandwiches and warming on cold days.To the guy who said it leaks and cold in and hour I can only assume you cross threaded the lid which can be done if rushing so yes it will leak and cool quickly as there is no seal created. The neck is a little small for big hands to fit inside to clean but majority of the time it cleans out with a swill under the tap or use your brain and wash brush or sponge and a spoon. It is large enough to fill easily with food and eat from it direct. Before you decide to buy I suggest testing your portion size as some days I need the full litre other days I struggle. Make a typical meal and use a measuring jug or similar to see if the ¾ or ½ litre would suit you better.

Loses heat through the lid
The lid is noticeably warm if the flask is filled with hot liquid which means it's losing heat. This is disappointing as I knew this was a potential weakness in the design and choose this flask because it appeared to have reasonable insulation in the lid, which consists of an outer metal cup, inner plastic 'cup' and sealing lid). As a test I compared this flask with another (tall thin) 1 litre flask I have the lid of which doesn't get warm. Both were filled with boiling water, and, not surprisingly, there was a marked difference at the temperature at various times. After 8 hours the temperature of the boiling water in the pioneer flask was 76 oC vs 84 in my old flask. At 24 hours the difference was 55 vs 67. Having said that, 76 oC is reasonably hot and with something with a higher specific heat capacity such as soup or stew the Pioneer might perform adequately, but you certainly couldn't keep something hot overnight.

Holds heat very well and no leakage.
Excellent 1tr flask. Holds the heat very well. In the morning, I pre-heated the flask with boiled water. Filled with hot soup. And it stayed boiling hot till the afternoon. Approx 7hrs. I would say the 1ltr is your best bet for hot liquid keeping its heat, rather than the smaller ones. It seems a lot but I found it to be the perfect size for lunch and a snack later (I work from 1030-2130). Light weight and love the black sandblasted finish. This will last a lifetime. The screw on lid is designed to have a loose fit to allow the steam to escape gradually as you unscrew and not to release all at once, possibly causing a mess. The lid tightens up well and did not leak whilst in my ruck sack.

Doesn't even keep food warm
I was so excited when i received this item. As with all flasks i have owned, i fill it for 15 minutes with boiling hot kettle water. I then tip the water out and fill it with piping hot food. The shortest time frame i left the food in the flask prior to eating it, was for 3hrs. My food wasn't even warm.I have tried to persevere with this flask but i am sad to say that after several attempts over 11 days, i am returning it to Amazon for a refund. Extremely disappointed!

Good, robust flask.
I had written an outraged review about how difficult this is to clean, but it turns out I was trying to put the silicon seal in the wrong place. I even bought a Thermos to replace it, which is when I worked out what I was doing wrong. This is actually a good flask, with a nice wide mouth for eating directly out of.

Leak proof
Leak proof and keeps the food worm/lukewarm for *hours*. One downside is that the food might get a little mushy, depending on what you put in it, but that's a sign that it works.Beware: the specific kind of aluminium it is made of makes so that metal cutlery will produce a sound when touching it. It bothers me enormously, so I am buying wooden cutlery for it.

Fabulous!
This is perfect for my lunch, it takes a nice sized portion of food. I heat it up with some boiling water for a few minutes, and my lunch is still warm several hours later. Although the label doesn't recommend putting in the dishwasher, I put it in the top rack about once a week for a thorough clean and it doesn't seem to mind this.
