Mid-Range Powerhouse
The VAGKRI 12,000 BTU unit is designed to bridge the gap between "cheap and loud" budget units and "overpriced" premium brands. It is a workhorse for rooms between 350 and 450 sq. ft., offering a high-velocity airflow that many competitors lack. The Highlights Rapid Chill: It punches above its weight class in terms of "time to cool." It features a high-efficiency compressor that can noticeably lower room temperature in under 15 minutes. The "3-in-1" Utility: It’s an excellent dehumidifier. In "Dry Mode," it’s capable of pulling significant moisture out of the air—a feature that often works better than the cooling mode in humid "swampy" climates. User Experience: The LED display is crisp, the remote is intuitive, and the Auto-Swing louvers help distribute air evenly rather than blasting one spot until it's freezing. The Reality Check: Lifespan & Durability You can expect a 5 to 10-year lifespan, but because VAGKRI is a value-focused brand, the unit's longevity is entirely dependent on your maintenance habits: Compressor Health: The motor is the heart of the unit. To keep it from burning out in year 3, ensure the exhaust hose is as short and straight as possible. Kinks in the hose cause heat to back up into the unit. The "Storage Trap": Many of these units "die" during the winter. If any water remains in the internal reservoir during storage, it can corrode sensors or grow mold. Always use the "Fan Only" mode for 2 hours before packing it away to bone-dry the internals. Parts Availability: As a newer brand, finding a specific replacement circuit board 5 years from now may be harder than finding one for a GE or Honeywell unit.

Really tickled with this.
I dreaded unboxing and installing this air conditioner, but we're supposed to hit 103 today, so I had to do it. I've used a portable air conditioner of another brand in my kitchen for about five years now, so I know how portable air conditioners work. This was no different -- but it does have drain holes and a siphon; my other one does not. I'm still not sure how to drain the one I already have. I installed this in the window in my bedroom where it will be a nice toasty about 95 degrees by 11 PM tonight, plugged it in, and wow. The room is COOL. Like COLD. Granted, it's 8:21 AM and we're benefiting from the overnight temps being around 63 this morning, but the room is amazingly cold. I'm looking forward to a comfortable cool night of sleeping in my bedroom tonight. A couple of interesting details: for one, my windows are big windows that slide side-to-side, and the sliders included in the package are not big enough by about six inches. There's a note on the instruction booklet that if the sliders aren't the right size, to contact them and provide your window size. I just did. We'll see how that turns out. Another interesting detail: this unit has a "sleep" mode, where the light will dim and maybe the fan speed or sound turns down a few notches -- I haven't tried that out yet. That's a nice feature. I'm just delighted with this product so far. As we speak I'm sitting in the kitchen, in front of my first portable air conditioner unit, which doesn't have near the "oomph" of the new unit. I'm seriously considering replacing it with a second Vakgri unit. Today will be a good test. I've got both A/C's going, the windows are closed in the house, the shades are drawn, it's a 1650-square-foot house, and I want to see how we make it through this 103-degree day. An update on 8/15/23: This has been just great. What a godsend to be able to sleep comfortably through the night when yesterday was our hottest day of the year so far with 113 degrees in places, and 109 degrees for the next few days. Two things about this that are awesome: the bedroom is actually COLD, even yesterday, and I have it set at 74. I could set it all the way down to 64, but that would be too cold. The other thing is that it has a "sleep" setting. The blue lights are very bright while it's on, and it's an easy thing to push the "sleep" button -- even in the dark -- and the light dims quite nicely so it doesn't bother me while sleeping. I still haven't bought the second one to replace the 5-year-old other-brand window A/C I have in the kitchen, and on days when it's 113 outside and the kitchen one seems to be struggling, I'm seriously thinking about it. I noticed that the price went up by $6 since I bought mine. :/ That wouldn't keep me from buying another one, though.

So far so good!
Title: Early Arrival and Effective Cooling, But Some Installation Challenges I recently purchased an air conditioner due to the intense heat in Oregon, and I must say, its early arrival got me really excited! Overall, I'm happy with this purchase, although there are a few things worth mentioning. Firstly, the early delivery was a pleasant surprise and helped me combat the scorching temperatures sooner. However, I encountered a minor setback during installation. The slider piece provided didn't fit my window, preventing proper ventilation. To resolve this, I had to cut a hole, which was a bit of a hassle. Fortunately, my partner was able to tackle the task and cut through the thick plastic, but it was a little frustrating for me personally. Additionally, the hose included with the AC could be a bit short, especially if you have a higher window. To address this issue, I improvised by placing a chair underneath to boost the height, ensuring the hose didn't hang halfway off the floor. Despite these challenges, I chose this particular air conditioner based on extensive research and mostly positive reviews. While I did come across one negative review, the majority of feedback for this model was positive, prompting my decision to make the purchase. In conclusion, the early arrival and effective cooling performance of this air conditioner have made a positive impact during the intense Oregon heatwave. Although there were some installation challenges, such as the ill-fitting slider piece and a relatively short hose, I believe these issues can be overcome with a little creativity and effort.

This is clearly a defective product.
I purchased this product in May 2023 and only used it for about two months each year through 2025, for a total of around six months. Even during those months, I only used it on a handful of hot days because summers where I live are usually mild. The unit is practically like new. This year, when I tried to use it again, it only blew warm air and would not cool at all. I’m extremely disappointed that it failed after such limited use. Either this company sells poor-quality products or I received a defective unit. I’m very frustrated and honestly feel like I deserve a refund. I would never recommend this product to anyone.

Quality AC at a great price
I held off on getting a portable air conditioner figuring I could just sweat out the few hot days we have in summer. After several days of 90F weather and no AC, I regretted that decision so I started looking in earnest for a portable AC. I compared features and prices and this made the short list. What pushed me over the edge of indecision was the number of very favorable reviews and the fact that additional pieces for the window kit were available at no charge. So I took a chance and ordered one of these units... BEST investment ever! As soon as I ordered, I email the company's support to request the window kit extensions. They responded promptly and assured me the kit was on its way. It arrived the same day as my AC unit! That alone impressed me -- it's rare that a company's customer service department is so very responsive. I did let it sit for 24 hours after delivery to let the internal fluids settle (there's some debate on the need to do this, but I do it just as a precaution.) Once unboxed, it took just minutes to get it fully installed and ready to go. And when I turned it on... ahhhh blissful cool air. I have a small studio -- just 344 sq ft -- and this unit definitely does the trick. In fact, it actually gets cold in my apartment! I have also used it on fan-only mode and it moves a lot of air. It's perfect for days where actual cooling isn't really needed. I have not tried the dehumidifier function as I really don't need it. So... after over a month of use, I am THRILLED with this unit. I have recommended it to several friends who are looking for a good portable unit that doesn't break the bank. If you're on the fence, get this one... you'll be glad you did!!

So far I love it. Will do update in a month
I bought this portable AC because I saw it on a website that had other portable ACs on it which this one had a good rating and a reasonable price. So setting it up was a piece of cake besides the freaking window😂 it did not want to stick to the window. But i made it work, after setting it up i turned it on and god damn it made my room so cool after a few mins of it being on. It makes such a huge difference since my room is the hottest in the whole house. I am very pleased with the ac and I hope i know to drain it later….i recommend for a medium size room UPDATE: I forgot to do the month update. But anyway, I strongly recommend this product. I gave this to my parents bc i moved away and my current house has ac and solar panels. My parents have been using it for almost a year nkw and they love it. They told me how much it has helped them in the heat. It has been going strong for 2 years!!! I would buy this again if it ever breaks but do buy.

It’s powerful and beautiful air conditioner
I wrote this review after I used this air conditioner for a week,It has a beautiful shape, clear and concise display functions, it can better control the functions and temperature you need. I use it in my living room, and my living room is about 500 feet, the air-conditioning can produces enough cool air to cover the entire living room, and the noise it produces is also within an acceptable range. It has its own dehumidification function, which can keep us in a dry and non-humid environment. It is best for The seaside city ,the installation is also very simple, and it is very convenient to use. In this hot summer, everyone must have this air conditioner with strong wind at home. I strongly recommend everyone to choose this air conditioner , it’s quality and it looks very guaranteed.I think it will works for along time.

Fills with water quickly
I have to drain this daily. I have one from a name brand that runs all summer and never have to drain. It’s a hassle when it throws the full tank error. I do live in the southeast so it is hot and humid but these run as auxiliary units to my main central A/C system so they are not doing the heavy lifting. Just supplemental.
