Adds flexibility
These pedals are perfect if you want to ride the same bike clipless or with platforms. It's great for my fat bike, where I switch to boots when the snow is too deep, and for my bikepacking rig where I don't always want to pack multiple pairs of shoes.The SPD side is slightly heavier, so is generally on the bottom when you put your foot on the pedal. You get used to giving the pedal a half turn with your toe to engage the cleat.

Excellent Pedals
Great pedals! It was purchased in Dec 2017. Durable;Reasonable price;Love the features w/ best of both worlds(clipless or flat). It has taken a beating w/ pedal strikes like rocks & some spills, yet spindles have no excess play. My only quibble may be the weight. It's not light but I'd rather go with durability. Highly recommend it.
