Has anyone used these for swimming?

No. We use them to cover the freestyle Libre 14 day diabetic sensor. They work great for showering & he sweats a lot at his job.

can this be placed over a bandage to prevent it from getting wet in the shower without harming the bandage?

No. When I wore it in the shower the bandage got soaked.
