Can you see through this? I would like to use it for privacy.

The shade cloth provides some kind of privacy. It is like a mesh you can see some thru it but not clearly. I would say it provides about 80 to 90% privacy.

Can it be cut? It's too big for my purpose.

Our shading net is not recommended to be cut open. It is designed and manufactured according to specific dimensions to ensure its effectiveness and durability.

is it effective in hot temperatures?

The shade is effective in keeping a garden and/or grass from burning up. This is very similar to the material you see at outdoor nurseries.

Does it come with rope?

No. Found it useful to get wide washers to hold the screws in place.
