I recently bought 4 products from Steel DN Mate:-The Stainless Steel Lag Screws for Wood Post of 1/8": Works really well with the tool provided. Because there are Left and Right screw, it prevents the cable from twisting. Good quality, really solid!-The 1/8" Stainless Steel Cable for Deck Cable Railing System: Great quality again! It comes with a cutter that works perfectly.-The Stainless Steel Protector Sleeves for 1/8" Wire Rope: Nice look for a finish on a wood post. I really like the way the sleeve can hide a hole that isn`t perfectly drilled.-And the Hydraulic Crimping Tool: Works perfectly for the Stainless Steel Lag Screws. I crimped the screws at two different places. It seems really strong, even with a lot of tension on the cables and the finish look is great.I am really satisfied with all of the products above. As you can see on the pictures, the finish look is awesome. It was super easy to install. Honestly it took me about 4 hours to install everything. I didn’t waste any screws or cable and no defaults were found on the tools provided. I would strongly recommend this company for your deck project. Overall, it gives a great look at a low cost!

Very good quality and easy to use. Definitely get cutter for great clean cuts

This is good wire rope. That said, I’ve not yet used it in the dog run that I'm putting into the back yard, but I have no qualms about investing my labor into this product.The cable looks good and appears well made. It came nicely packaged, and the enclosed cable-cutter tool is well made and cuts through the cable almost like butter.The vendor, “DN Mate,” looks like a good-and-reputable firm. It gets very good reviews. DN Mate is one of Amazon’s small vendors, but I note that the firm has a good storefront webpage on Amazon offering a complete line of tools and parts needed to install a cable deck and that the cable is available in a variety of different lengths.The Amazon ad copy says that the cable is “marine grade,” but it does not specify the type of stainless steel from which the rope is made. It should be Type 316 because Type 316 stainless steel cable has molybdenum added to it to make it more corrosion resistant. It would be helpful if the vendor specified the steel type in the ad copy, rather than just saying "marine grade."This minor reservation aside, I am happy that I have this cable, and look forward to getting further parts from DN Mate and installing it. Yes, I would recommend this product.

Edit August 2024 - wire and hardware still very sturdy. No rust. Good product.The wire is sturdy and looks good where it was installed. It is as advertised. The men hired to install the wire told me the wire was smooth and easy to work with. They said the wire cutters that came with it were of good quality and would like to have them in their tool box. The suggested/recommended clamping tool to secure the wires can be purchased separately, but we borrowed it from a friend. The men said it made a difference using that clamping tool and it worked well. Recommend purchase of both.

I'm not really sure what's going on here... the description and the instructions included in the box say 316 stainless - which magnets shouldn't stick to I'm told. Yet a magnet does stick to this cable, but not hard. Not sure this is truly "Marine grade" maybe its a lower grade of stainless? Note that the description says this cable is "NOT for aircraft use or overhead lifting". The cable itself is well made, evenly thick and indeed is 7 strands. Smooth surfaced. Comes coiled and zip tied in the box along with the cable cutter tool. I was going to use this outside to create a wire trellis for espalier rose work - not sure I will use it until I can confirm that it's stainless or not. If not, I will still use it, just indoors. The cable is really nice. The cutter that comes with it looks like it will do the job. However, you need two hands to use it, as the handles open super wide to get the cable in the jaws. Need two hands (or a super large hand) to close it. The rubbery grips are great feeling. All in all, I really like this product, it's flexible but strong, seems well-made and exactly the size I need.
