Placebo: MTV Unplugged [DVD]

What an amazing and magical show. Placebo after being on the scene for twenty years are proving they still have it. If you've ever seen these guys live you'll know they are a force to be reckoned with. This show is something else. As the name suggests it's unplugged so it is a semi accoustic show. Here the songs have been stripped right back and reworked into a beautiful masterpiece. The stage lighting is fantastic and even somewhat magical. It appears as though the band are performing from within a cube with the lights projected onto the cube, giving a beautiful atmospheric feel to the songs which works really well.Overall I found the entire show to be a beautiful and enjoyable work of art as well as a fantastic show by one of the most influential bands of our generation.

Very intimate gig. So underrated and better now than ever. Well filmed audio on Blueray is superb. Looking forward to the gig next month. Musically fantastic. The stripped down versions of some of the songs better than the originals. Must by if your a fan or even it u think you maybe one day

Haven't even watched the DVD yet but annoyed already. Anyone who was expecting a proper DVD case this is just cardboard nonsense. I wish they had advertised the fact as I wouldn't have bothered. This will be destroyed in my house in no time by my tiny terror. Who will either bash it off stuff or attempt to eat it. The plastic cases survive these types of assaults much better. Might have to buy the Blu-ray instead hopefully they've had the good sense to put that one in a proper box at least. I'm giving it 4 stars as I know Placebo are good live and suspect that this will be brilliant. With only 1 star deducted for the crap packaging. Will just have to wait until after Christmas to re-order. *sigh*

Absolutely fantastic DVD gutted I couldn't go to the actual gig, but this is a pleasant watch! Placebo fans it is a must.. Especially if you couldnt make it!

Veramente molto molto bello

This is a stunning musical performance by alternative rock band, Placebo. Brian Molko, frontman for the band. has one of the most haunting voices in the music world. Placebo is very underrated. I consider Placebo one of the more interesting bands that came out of this generation of performers and songwriters. Also, their career has spanned over twenty-five years and hopefully, there will be more new music. This performance was an MTV Unplugged and it's stunning to watch. One of the best I have seen. The lights and orchestra are just pure wonders. Molko looks good and sings so beautifully. The music is really transformative. For example the song, Every Me and Every You is incredibly different but still true to the original. Placebo has stripped some of these songs down to the bare bones and they are just lovely. I always feel, when I see this at work, that these are the songs that will last and last. Placebo has made seven plus albums (some smaller EPs, etc.) and their music is always interesting and bewitching. It's like a spell. Molko is casting spells, telling his tales of love, sorrow, happiness, and so forth. They are little stories. Beautiful little stories. So recommended. Buy now.

Llegó antes de lo esperado, la calidad es excelente, el DVD es región 0 y eso es muy practico! Soy muy fan de Placebo asi que este concierto, es para la posteridad. Lo amé!!!!
