Ideal Present
I followed the advice of the previous reviewers as I needed a present for a friend. I was not disappointed. This is a super book. It is useful because it has all kinds of designs, not just huge displays which not everyone wants to make. There are simple methods to follow so designs can be tried out easily at home. I like the history of flower designs too which is presented interestingly with some historical photos. There are also large glossy pictures for just browsing. This book is an ideal present. I have never been very tempted to try out flower arranging myself but this flower design encyclopaedia is a real inspiration and has given even me some ideas.

EXACTLY what I've been hunting for!
I must have returned 4 or 5 floristry "course" books before, finally, finding this one. The others were all very pretty, and lovely coffee table books, but not books from which you could learn the fundamental principals of floristry. But this 400 page book does just that! Starting with the various types of arrangement, the different ways you can structure your materials to best effect, right through to how to go about making a design for a Floristry Competition. It's a book I'm going to read from cover to cover. Just wish I could attend the author's school in person!

Informative
Somewhat dated in the designs, but a good reference book for novice/ intermediate arrangers

Lovely Book
The contents of the book itself was just what I had been looking for with all the elements and principle of design explained in plain English. I wish I had bought this book while studying City & Guilds level 2 Floristry instead of another book that had been recommended at the time. Lovely photographs and details of plant materials used to recreated some of the designs
