Hasbro Candyland and Chutes and Ladders Board Games

Classic children’s game not necessarily for small children
Candyland is a game to help young children learn their colors and embark on the journey of all that board games teach you about taking turns, good sportsmanship, etc. Chutes and Ladders Serves the same purposes but it is for counting and numbers. My son recently turned three so I thought it was time. These versions are not expensive but they aren’t particularly cheap either. So I was expecting the Candyland of my youth. While Chutes and Ladders is fine, Candyland is not designed to last. The color cards are on what essentially feels like card stock rather than the cardboard I remember as a child. They easily rip and will not last being put in little mouths. If I want this to last more than one child, I’m going to have to laminate the cards. Or be present to play with them Every Single Time to guard the cards. I wish they had been printed on plastic playing cards or heavier board as it is intended to be played with by children.

Good Quality
Easily a family favorite. The chutes and ladders have been hard for my 4yo to learn which direction to move her piece. She gets bored half way through. It’s probably better for kids a little bit older who are better with numbers and more patience. I am sure she will like it when she is older. Both game boards and pieces were very sturdy. Great quality.

You get what you pay for
Value for money: you get what you pay for. When we got the games, we immediately thought they were cheaply made, as the cards were pretty thin and had nicks on them as soon as we separated them out. U fortunately, ‘Candy Land’ game board fell apart a week after purchase. My 3-year old simply tried to fold the board on her own, bending it the wrong way with very little pressure, when it fell apart in front of our eyes. We fixed it with tape, but alas it won’t fold any more, so now we have to put the game board on top of the actual box. I wish they charged another $5 but made a better quality game. Now I am waiting for the same thing to happen to ‘Chutes and Ladders’.

Classic games
These are the classics that have been around for many years. I played with these when I was a child. Still great games for young children. Really held my 4 year old Grandson's attention and he loved playing them. Great getting the together too.

Not as good of quality as they used to be
Have only opened and played the candy land so far, but was quite disappointed to find the cards are printed on a very thin card stock and not the cardboard like they were during my childhood. We'll have to laminate them so they can hopefully hold up for a bit.

Good kid game, I prefer the original board over this
The chutes and ladders is hard to decifer between the green blocks. I played it for 30 minutes before I realized there are is a pattern bc the colors are too similar. Kid loves it.
