(UPDATED, Also got 4k version) Good solid camera, no need to pay more!
*****(UPDATED, Also got 4k version)*****TL;DR - 4k version has these major upgrades over 2k:- Rear Camera!- 4k Video quality- GPS support- Even wider 170° vs 150°- 64 vs 32gb card- Support 5Ghz wifi- Overall even better value for your buck with the 4k version.I moved the 2k to another car we have, and upgraded to the 4k. Luckily both cameras have the same form factor and mount! And they both use the same app, and and have a very similar UI. So my original review of the 2k applies, and you can read it below. Other than the major upgrades, some things to note.- They use 2.5mm TRRS audio cable to connect to the rear camera and say not to plug it in while the camera is powered. I'd listen to that advice, as you realize that the rear camera is actually powered by that cable, and they're not really designed for hot plugging power like USB.- The camera now has GPS support, which stamps your location in the videos. Useful if you need to keep track of speed! There's a separate app to extract the data that I have not tested yet, but it also overlays on the video itself. The GPS was surprisingly good at getting signal, even inside the garage.- They fixed the recording restart annoyance after ever time you go into the camera settings that I talk about below for the 2k.- There is a Wide Dynamic Range feature (WDS they call it), basically described as HDR. I didn't notice any difference in my testing. But maybe it's only noticeable in certain lighting conditions.- I really like the form factor of these. Other cameras look too out of place, especially the ones that have big screens. This one is elegant and low profile.*****(Original review of 2k)*****So after watching enough videos of drivers behaving badly, I started wanting a dash cam myself. Hopefully I never actually need it. Unless it catches something funny, maybe I can use it then. LolSo with hundreds of these on Amazon, settled on a simple one for a reasonable price. Probably don’t need the super deluxe model of something you rarely want to actively use. And there’s no real way to test reliability ahead of time.Packaging was surprisingly good, as if someone actually put some thought into it. Not Apple quality mind you, but very organized. Had plenty of “extra” items like a pry tool to help you run the cable, cable guide stickies, a spare mounting sticker, etc.One thing I didn’t expect was a special mounting film (and a spare) you put on and then stick the camera onto that, instead of directly on the windshield. I guess to help you when removing to reposition? Could also just mount it directly on the windshield if you’re more aggressive.Since the camera has an app to offload most of its interface, it’s worth reviewing that for a minute. This camera has a wifi hotspot you can turn on and off. And when you pair your phone with that, you can use the free phone app they link you to control the camera. I think most of these work this way because they need the wifi to have enough bandwidth to view videos. The app works with other camera models, and seems decent and reliable enough once you figure it out. One minor annoying thing I found with the app is you need to turn off recording to change the settings, which is fine, but then it automatically starts recording as soon as you go back to the camera Home Screen. So if you want to go back to the settings, you have to immediately stop the recording again. Other than that, the app worked fine and downloads to your phone worked fine as well. Also, doesn’t need an account setup to work!I actually like the voice feedback when settings change, etc. And you don’t need a more costly screen that way.As for the video quality, 2k video looks great in daylight. Do you need pay more for a 4k camera? Probably not unless you’re recording yourself racing to put online! Looks good at night with your headlights. Low light performance could have been better to see more of what your headlights don’t illuminate. It will auto erase old videos, except the "emergency" ones. Which can be triggered by pressing the button, or automatically with some car crash detection. I tested that part by jolting the camera, and it responded by saving the video with the voice prompt. Pretty nice how that works actualy. One final interesting thing is it seems to have a “super capacitor” in it. It provides enough run time after you shut off the car to finish writing the file to the memory card (like 1-2 seconds) and prevent corruption. As an engineer, I like to know those details. lolThe camera gets warm on its own running, and I’m sure it’ll be super hot in the summer in the sun. But I imagine they thought of these things when designing. Electronics can take a lot of heat.

A very good dash cam for it's price.
We bought this dash cam for our second car and we wanted something small, simple, easy to use and affordable and we found this one.One of the best things about the Sarmert 2K Dash Cam is its price. It's one of the most affordable 2K dash cams on the market, and it still offers a great value for your money. It also comes with 32GB micro sd card, so it's ready to be used and set up. If you have a bigger micro sd card laying around, it's even better. The dash cam also has a wide 150° field of view, so you can capture everything that's happening on the road around you.Pros:2K resolutionWide 150° field of viewAffordable priceEasy to useBuilt-in GPSCons:The rear camera is not includedThe dash cam does not have a touchscreen. (this does not bother us)Overall, I'm very impressed with the Sarmert 2K Dash Cam. It's a great value for your money, and it offers a high-quality recording experience. If you're looking for a new dash cam, I highly recommend the Sarmert 2K Dash Cam.

Very good camera for the price
I like the quality of the picture and the fact that it came with the SD card installed. I was actually amazed how good the video quality was, considering the price. Even the night videos were good and clear. It was pretty easy to set it up and once I figured out how to access the camera through the app, it was easy to check the videos and access the settings. My biggest complaint, and the reason i decided to write this review, was that a few days ago, the car was involved in an accident. We hit some black ice and the car slid off the road and hit a pole. There was enough force to damage the radiator, break the front bumper and crack the windshield but when I checked the camera, the accident video was not locked so had I not downloaded it, it would have been erased. The curious thing is, the Event folder, which is supposed to store all locked "accident" videos had several videos there but none of them involved any accidents. Several were of the car just idling while in a parking lot or in a drive through line. No idea why they were locked and the video of an actual accident was not. The sensitivity of the G sensor was at medium, i did not change that when the camera was set up.

Excellent camera and easy to install and usd.
A friend had a hit and run car accident and wasnt able to catch the idiot, which started my search for a quality affordable camera. This camera is front facing and has a sleek narrow profile which I like so it doesnt stick out behind the rear view mirror. They provide everything to make it run while you are driving, including the sd card. There is an app that you can download and see the video via wifi from the camera. They include everything to install and work when the cae is on, but one thing I would suggest getting in addition is the hardwiring kit. This way your camera runs while the car is parked. The current setup is via cigarette lighter, which turns off when your car is off.

Product is good, but the app is atrocious
The Sarmert 2K Dash Cam Front is decent as best. The quality is definitely not 2560P, but it's not horrible, and appears the same as my other dash cam, so I don't really have any complaints there. However, the main reason I picked this product was since it had an app, and the app is poorly designed, as it doesn't allow live view. It just shows me a stock image. One other part I did not like, is when reviewing recording footage, the dash cam stops recording. Overall, the dash cam has room for improvement in terms of both its hardware and software, I would look for other products, AND please look at the app before purchasing. If the UI looks the same, look for another product.

Great dash cam. Videos can be viewed from phone (when dashcam is ON)
I really like this dashcam. The picture quality is great. You are able to view the videos right through your phone. Keep in mind that the dashcam has to be turned on for you to access and view the videos as it is not uploading the videos to cloud. Therefore, you cannot view videos from your living room. You have to be in your car with dashcam ON for you to view videos.
