Airplant Andreana XL (Grown and Shipped From California)

This is a cute little plant. It looks pretty much like the picture; mine was maybe the size of a grapefruit when I took it out of the box and the leaves all spread out (they had been slightly compacted to fit in the shipping box). All the leaves were green and there were not any traces of other colors (i.e., no flowers, but also no dead leaves). None of the leaves were broken. All-in-all, the little plant looked very healthy. I put it in a white dish in my office on top of some iridescent turquoise glass stones and it looks lovely there.This was shipped in late November and it was really cold for a few days, but the plant survived (actually, it thrived).I do wish some care instructions had been included as my track record with air plants is not great, but I will do my best! In the end, I think this is a nice little addition to my office and I'm happy with the purchase.

I am delighted with the plant. It was the size that was indicated in the picture, about the size of a small grapefruit.. It seems green and healthy. I soaked it as directed which is very easy to do. I have well water so just put the plant in a sink of water for about an hour and shake it off well so the base does not get waterlogged. It is sitting in a white seashell, which contrasts nicely with the green color, and it gets indirect light.

I started my order with a Tillandsia Xerographica and this little oddity showed at the bottom of the page as something else I might like to see. I have about 20 different air plants and decided to click the picture. I thought if it looks like the picture then it would be a nice addition to my collection. I decided to purchase it despite the fact that there were no reviews. After I placed the order, I started looking for pictures and information about the Tillandsia Andreanas on the internet. Well how big is XL? It's probably not going to look exactly like the picture, but how different could it look? (Yes....I'm doing this a little backwards. Normally, I would research it first and then buy.) The pictures I kept seeing on the internet weren't looking like the picture I saw connected to my purchase. The plants didn't look bad, but they weren't exceptional either. I really started to worry at that point.I received my plant within a few days in 95 degree temperatures. I opened the box and I was surprised!. I thought "HOLY COW!!!! Is this not the coolest air plant ever! Honestly, the picture doesn't do it justice although it does look exactly like the picture. It's what you can't see in the picture that makes it better. I can't describe it any other way then it looks and feels similar to a koosh ball. It's about 4" in diameter (about the size of a softball). The fronds have come out of the base in a curve to form a ball shape. The fronds are similar to pine fronds on a tree, firm but not unmoveable.This plant is AWESOME, and I am so glad that I bought it!!

Beautiful, durable plants!

I was afraid when I got my airplant anchmeana that it might be dead from heat shock, and it did look rather gray when I opened the package. However, I soaked it in water for about an hour, and the leaves have turned a healthy looking, delicate green. The plant itself is at least the size of a softball, maybe even the size of a large grapefruit. I believe it'll do fine, but I will edit this review if it doesn't. My complaint is that the plant had only part of a sheet of newspaper in the box as packing, and there is no packing slip. I realize that I can contact the seller through Amazon if I need to, but a packing slip to go into my plant files would have been nice.

I have many house plants....This didn't last long

This company sends healthy, green to muted icey green tillisandia andreanas. I absolutely love these airplants! This is my second purchase of this type air plant as the first ones, six weeks ago, are doing very well. You can't go wrong with these as long as you follow care of airplants correctly.
