Not gonna front, I was skeptical. I've seen this item for yrs thinking it was just an overpriced toy (esp the versions with the choice of stuffed animals), i figured it was just another gimmick... i had also come across video reviews over the yrs showing some dogs responses ranging from either no notable response, to just attacking & throwing it around like any other toy... i also never really felt my dog had a need for such... until recently,... at 13yrs old, (5lb yorkie), he began having sudden heightened episodes of pretty severe anxiety with no apparent specific "trigger"... possibly part age, but additionally, also not helped by several "neighbors" use of illegal fireworks sporadically through the YEAR... so among other steps to help remedy/calm him, as we dont want to use Rx. ... I figured nothing to lose by finally trying this thru Amazon. I laughed when I saw the cute lil plastic hearts... but i was open to try anything at this point ... the joke was on me....bcuz NO JOKE - this lil thing worked for him immediately. I didn't even have a stuffed animal or pillow to insert it into... I just placed it in his blanket & he began to noticeably calm & snuggle ... and soon fell into a solid sleep... all which previously was mostly achieved thru him reaching sheer exhaustion during his severe episodes... Needless to say I'm a believer. Granted it may not work for all dogs/situations ... but in our case, it did and I'm forever grateful. So it's worth a shot, esp in cases of high anxiety like ours. Providing him even a slight level of comfort during those heightened episodes is priceless to us ...but I'm thankful this item provides him a level well beyond my initial skeptical expectations ... Today is July 1... the big test will be in 3 days... hoping it will continue to provide some level of comfort thru the entire day/nt of illegal fireworks... as for the sporadic sudden bursts of fireworks that trigger him, to date, since receiving this item, so far, I just keep the lil heart handy & immed place it either on him or in his bedding/blanket and imo, it does help calm and considerably shorten his hysteria to the spontaneous bursts; whereas prior, he used to cower in the corner of the room.or his crate, bark, pant & just stare in fear on high alert out our glass door, even if i close the drapes, smtms all evening ... but now, this lil device seems to help distract him a bit which helps guide him back towards calming down significantly quicker, I'm talking in mere minutes. So 10 stars from us! (I only wish they were usb :) but no complaints & I stocked up on batteries! In our case, it truly has provided a welcome level of relief for both our dog & ourselves. Won't be without it. Gv it a try & hope u experience similar comforting results.

Thy worked great, I ordered these for a toy that came with a broken heart inside because they wouldn’t replace it, my pup slept great after I got these hearts.

This came as a 2pk unfortunately only one works. The other one barely hums. It's incredibly frustrating because I got these for my kittens and the only option is to return both. How can you resolve this please to help my kitty's

We got this for a grieving kitty who had just lost his brother, and we didn’t want the versions of this that automatically turned off. That’s why we got this one, with its manual on/off switch. We put in pretty standard rechargeable batteries, and wow, this thing is the little heartbeat that could. It has been going for just shy of two consecutive weeks now, with no break, just being on 24/7. Kitty sleeps near it most of the time, and though it’s loud enough to hear from several feet away, Kitty seems to like it just fine. Very impressed by how power-efficient this thing is to go 24/7 for nearly two weeks and counting without needing a battery change.

Unfortunately, I lost all but one single kitten from a newborn foster litter. Single kittens don't always do well. So, I put this heart under the blanket with a soft snuggle animal above the blanket. The surviving kitten sleeps so peacefully right on top of or next to the heartbeat. It doesn't just produce a quiet sound (which newborns can't hear), it also creates a gentle "thump thump ... thump thump" feeling. Happily, after four days full time, the batteries are still going strong!

Should came with a stuffy animal as well for the price
