Hairy Maclary and Friends Little Library

Every child needs to read about Hairy Maclarey!

These are fab little board books to accompany the full “Hairy Maclary” book series. The character are appealing to children, and the mini board books mean they’re durable enough for a toddler to carry around and “read”. I’ve bought these along with the full sized book set as 1st birthday presents and have never met a toddler who didn’t love them. The rhyming stories and repeated refrains are great for early language development, and turning the pages of the board books is good fine motor development. I’d recommend using these alongside the full stories for greatest impact and fun!

Lovely little books, a good accompaniment to the full length books. Not really actual stories but my one year old son seems to like them so that's all that matters!

Nice little book but very few words on the pages definitely for babies, my nephew will love these Thankyou.

Fun simple books to start helping children to read fast delivery and good value for money

First off- be aware that these do NOTE contain new Hairy Maclary stories or illustrations. They take pictures of different characters from all the books and put them together (for example, the book entitled Zachery Quack has illustrations from the Zachery Quack book and minimonster book) and the illustrations are accompanied by short, easy text.We love them because they are just the right size for little hands to hold, manipulate and look at on their own. We use them in car all the time and our 18 month old son loves to look at them on drives.

These books only contains 5 pages each and have one sentence in the entire book. they are 3.5 inches square not at all what I expected as a board book.Very disappointing as nothing like the other books from this author that are wonderful works of art and rhyming that capture small children's hearts and require to be read over and over and over again.The description should have been much clearer.

Perfect gift for my grandson

We expected to get the real books, not just those little ones with just a few words on every page. We do love Hairy Maclary but were expecting the real stories.

I was a little hesitant to order these books because of some of the less favorable reviews because I was originally looking for additional regular-full-length-fully-illustrated-totally-fun-and-awesome Hairy Maclary stories. (I have a bunch and wanted the books I didn't own).These little board books are little 3 1/2 inches square- and there are only 3-5 words per page; the first page starts the sentence/story and the 5th page ends the sentence/story AND this is a GOOD THING for my little reader who LOVES all the Hairy Maclary books we have. She can read these little books by herself and read them quickly and she feels like an awesome talented reader--what a way to build confidence and have fun. AND she recognizes the pictures from her other books (yes, they are not original to these books) and loves to go to her other books and find the "matching" pictures, so I see this as a very good thing--builds her confidence in her memory and observing talents- exactly what builds a confident learner. (The words on the page in between can, the , is, on....are not "easy" words to read, but fun to sound out). They are not really "new" stories, more like very short summaries of the "full-length" stories, but that is okay, because they are Hairy Maclary and friends and the small size is fun for a little kid to haul around and hold AND since they are different form the regular-sized books they are "more special". So, don't order these hoping for a "new" story (like us older Hairy Maclary junkies might) but as a supplement perfect for a little Hairy Maclary fan!
