Decent starter kit
I chose these for the amount of colors as well as the brushes that come with. The pearlescent is my favorite, which is disappointing because all the colors on that palette seem to be only half full, whereas the matte color pellets are thicker.I also noticed that I only received one of the extra plastic dividers that they say come in each palette to keep the colors from breaking up.As for the brushes, there are a good deal of them, but they are not of a terribly good quality, and while half the brushes are meant to be more rounded, they all draw pretty flat.Overall I think the set will serve me nicely, the variety of colors being what I was most interested in, even more so when I replace the brushes it came with with some of a finer quality.

Not bad for children, but I hate that they dry chalky
They're a good starter set for kids and have a wonderful palette of colors. However, I didn't care for them much because they dry really chalky on paper and that's not what I'm looking for in watercolor. The wooden brushes that come with the product aren't bad, but the bristles/metal tops look and feel very touchy, as they wiggle quite a bit while I'm painting and this was after one use. The smaller black brushes that come in the palette also shed while trying to paint with them. The metallic colors are fun to use as accent colors, but they don't mix well with each other and they lose their sparkle when mixed heavily with the regular matte colors.I think this is a classic example of, "You get what you pay for" - but if you're not looking to showcase your artwork to people or online, then this could actually be quite a bargain!

great set
This is a great selection of colors, regular and pearlessant. Good selection of brushes too! Great starter set. Make sure you follow directions and put water in each pan you plan to use before you start. This will help you get better bolder colors.

Fun for beginners
I enjoyed this paint set very much (especially the pearlescent pallet). One thing I have to say is that the colors are not very bold and thick. I had to do many layers just to capture the color. When I scanned my artwork, the color was so light that didn't capture the color. Overall, It is very fun to play and experiment with, but if your planning to do artwork you want to sell, I would buy yourself something else. The picture is an art piece I did. Everything is in watercolor. The background is much brighter and more vibrant, but the scanner couldn't capture that.

Good brushes, paint is just OK.
The brushes are great, and it's nice to have the variety. The paint itself doesn't dissolve as easily as it should and they are less intense than your basic Crayola set (I know, watercolor isn't supposed to be very bright but it's hard to get a big contrast in the tones).

Just what I wanted
I just barely started watercolor for the first time and I love it! I really liked the regular color palette and can't wait to try the glitter palette!
